My Sonic Youth Dreams have come true

Just dying over "Rather Ripped" their album from this year - listen to the Lee Renaldo track...I mean the whole thing is just...a dream...

I never thought they would hone their craft to that extent. Never. They've done another "Dirty" except they sound so much more melodic and mature. All the famous Sonic Youth dissonance is just...metamorphosized. Controlled. They only let you have a little of it at a time.

I'm just speechless. .I haven't paid attention to Sonic Youth in a long time. I bough Murray Street, whatever year that was - 2002? But I sold it, it left no impression on me.

God I'm stunned. All their rough edges are dulled...it's gorgeous. Just gorgeous. Who would have thought them capable of it? Not me. Not by a longshot.
