I was always a bit suspicious of our Johnny, because him and Morrissey shafted the rest of the band on performance royalties. (a four piece would usually split 25% each - they only gave the others 10% each. Even worse when you realise that they also got all the writing royalties)
It was good to read the article the other day by Bernard Butler. He was inspired to do his thing by hearing the music of Johnny Marr. He loved the guitar that Johnny used. Years later, Johhny found out about this and gave him the guitar that he used on all those great Smiths songs. God knows what it is worth.
