SARS? Man-made plague???

Post by Myke115 »

What in the world is this SARS flu like virus going around?? Rather frightening. I always thought that if Armageddon came about and the human race was decimated, it wouldn't be thru war or conventional weapons ... it'd be thru some germ that some military lab originally created some where and it got out! Any one every read "the Stand" by Stephen King? One of his first major novels and one of the few that I think is phenominal. That's what wipes out most living things in the novel ... a military made virus.

"The Stand"

I think the Fixx or some 80's britpop made a song about that book.. .a good one...

C'mon out and meet your maker
C'mon out and make The Stand
C'mon out, c'mon out
C'mon out and we'll make the Stand.

Yeah!

Ooh I can't stop laughing. I don't know what song that is you're talking about by The Fixx or whatever, but those are some really thought- provoking, exciting and brilliant lyrics and I can't wait to figure out what the hell song you're talking about.

Oh no...I fear I know what song you're talking about now but I dare not mention the band's name.
I used to love song! Laughing myself silly now...let me just check my facts first.

Well unfortunately I was right, so I must embarass myself by mentioning The Alarm. But the song wasn't on the album I was thinking it was on. Yes I used to like the Alarm. Nobody mentions them anymore. They have no place in history. Weird!

Sorry to hear you've been sick. Last time I was sick it hung on to me for awhile like that. I just don't think the SARS thing is as serious as some people think it is. I've been washing hands more frequently though.

I was in a Portland bar and this guy told me his mom doesn't like to sit next to any Asians at work anymore, even though the Asians in question are American, live next door and have never been to Hong Kong.
