This is a quote from a Chicago Tribune story about what Barbara Bush, the mother of Dubya, had to say in the early days after Katrina struck:
"...[she] suggested that those who lost their homes were better off because they got to sleep in a baseball stadium-turned shelter. 'So many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them.'"
Okay even if she hadn't known about the fact that it was pitch black in that stadium and the horrific and lawless conditions inside, I mean the mind really boggles as to how such a thing could have come out of her mouth.
