the geezer is smart. not too many brain cells destroyed by the acid yet, i think.
here's my take.
- in full aggreement:
Wilco
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
The Datsuns
Roots Manuva
Sigur Ros
- nah:
The Breeders (they lost it)
Beck (boring & artsy fartsy)
- you gotta be kidding:
Ms Dynamite (come on man, my daughter listens to this stuff; are we amongst adults here?)
- you overlooked:
new Sting (music for Maverick to relate to)
new Bowie (good enough for me, anyway)
new Moby (baldy impish music for sloths)

can't forget My Computer. paronoid drug takers instead of paranoid android.

I don't know what the Von Bondies sound like though, I'll check them out.
I agree My Computer was one of the best albums of 2002. What we need is for the paranoid drug takers and the paranoid androids to get together and have a gigantic rave party in the middle of nowhere and decide that if they're paranoid of the rest of the world, they at least aren't paranoid of each other.

And just before they all go home happy, Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" will be played.

My Computer is the name of a band from Manchester (the city tied with Detroit for prodcing some of the best popular music ever. The album is Vulnerablia, one part Radiohead sixty-nine perecnt Sreamadelica. Shaun Ryder's dad is their manager and it was on heavy rotaion when the Sloth came to the Evil Heat.

Funny you say 1985. That was the year I discovered alternative music in earnest. Back when "alternative" could really describe it.
When I thought about it later I guessed you probably just meant you were playing it a lot.
I jumped the gun, I am nostalgic for the days when radio was different, before deregulation. Radio had possibilities and okay look I'm ready for the quotes section.
