NO MORE BUSH!!!!
NO MORE BUSH!!!!
Well tonight was rather emotional for me. The moon's in Scorpio, what do you expect, eh?
I went down to my favorite bar (uh oh...I mean British spelling...favourite) and ended up talking to the woman beside me who came from the small town of Anacortes.
She worked as a receptionist in a doctor's office up there, and understood well, as I do, how devastating it is that doctors have to turn away Medicare/DSHS patients because the government payout to physicians is so low. BUT YET she confessed she was a Bushie. I mentioned how crazy it was that the "clear skies act" Bush champions actually makes it EASIER for companies to get away with belching more pullutants into the sky. She changed the subject, but I returned to it, and when she went to the loo (bathroom for you non-Limeys) I took the opportunity to leave.
I found myself exploding with anger, and acting like a true alcoholic or mentally ill person as I walked to the bus stop yelling "NO MORE BUSH!!!" several times. I sat at the bus stop, next to an upscale hotel, and yelled at the top of my lungs "NO...MORE...BUSH!!!" several times. Surprised at my own behavior, but burning with emotion and unable to control myself nonetheless.
Just as my bus finally came, two black men walked up to me and it seemed they were as eager to talk as I was. They interrupted my initial attempts to say "don't vote Bush" by saying "Are you ready to listen?" I knew the sensitivity of black folks, especially black men, and said "Yes, I am. But I have something to say." They said "What?" And I said "Don't vote Bush." I noticed just then that my bus was pulling up and said "This is my bus, man I have to go" touching one of them on the shoulder to let them know I had no problem with them. As I began to board the bus, the man said "I voted for Bush!" I said "FUCK Bush" as I boarded the bus. Not much he could do then, as he wasn't boarding.
I cried silently on the way home.
When ignorant, well meaning, compassionate people from small towns support Bush, when black people tell me they voted for Bush...I know I must give up and let the ignorant of this world take over. Their numbers are too big for me. I have no control.
But I want to say this: my belief or non-belief in God is predicated on one thing and one thing only: whether Bush is re-elected or not. There can be no God as far as I am concerned who would let this man continue to propogate his lies in the name of this country's safety and welfare.
Anyone who cares even a little about their fellow man could not vote for Bush. And if I could find a group of Christians against Bush, I would join their club in a second.

Also, McC, I wanted to let you know, Gillian Gilbert, keyboard player of New Order has LEFT THE BAND according to Manchesteronline.com and according to a source, the newest New Order sounds a lot more like JD than anything New Ordery with keyboards. Dude, they're getting rid of the keyboards! How exciting is that?
moveon.org asked for 300,000 dollars from their members on the 23rd to launch a preemptive attack on Bush's campaign; they received 1.1 million in 28 hours from over 19,000 people --
not that I think Bush needs anymore light shed on the fact that he's got no scrupples and even fewer clues about what he's doing, but they are gonna let their little light shine, shine, shine

the idiotic remarks by the man never cease to delight and amaze me. I am so hopeful that one of them or the grand total of them will be his undoing -- here he is biting the hand that feeds him:
after all the national media have done for George W. Bush, the guy's complaining. "There's a sense that people in America aren't getting the truth," he says.

whoops! I didn't post the whole thing -- here's the rest, I hope they turn him like his name was Richard Nixon:
"I'm mindful of the filter through which some news travels," the president groused a few days ago, "and sometimes you have to go over the heads of the filter and speak directly to the people."

Now then, now then. A quick look over recent stuff suggests that the dishwater has become a little murky. Thank god that Mark is having a full blown psychotic episode to liven things up. (Ever read Marx and his stuff about false conciousness.)
So how is it all hanging? Everybody got tickets to Spiritualized yet?
Mav, I have a few things to say to you about the book review that I never got round to. I might not get time to stick it down on cyberpaper, so in the meantime, rest assured that you are full of shit.
McC have you seen a specialist yet? The clock is ticking.
I'm thinking of climbing Mt Ranier next year and will be starting training in January. Anyone want to come along for the ride? (Cost is about $600)
I retire from rugby on Nov 8th so will be hammered at the concert and probably ready to start a fight. Hope to see you all there.

I haven't read Marx, which is why I enjoy being in this dishwater, often I float by a tasty, albeit waterlogged, scrap that I can digest. Here is an explanation for anyone else who hasn't read Marx:

thank you Tommy Martyn for the tidbit

Good to hear you Tommy...I agree, this site has been rapidly filling with some serious ditchwater, as Martino puts it. We miss your shaking-up of things.
I am curious to hear about how I am full of shit about the novel. I'm sure you have some well-phrased rebuttals to my opinions...but since they are opinions, I can claim that they are equally full of shit. Whenever you get a chance...

depends on how you want to do it. I have a chum who did it in one straight shot with some friends. They were awake for 24 hours straight. He said it was a grind. I was thinking of doing it with the guides and the one day training session. Climb takes two days and one night on the mountain. Hence the cost. They also supply the mountaineering gear which I have no intention of ever using again.
I think 2 days would be better myself. Sounds fun, I guess you'd be doing it next September? If so I'd be down with that. Email me the details if you have any. beharrison@leedefinancial.com
