The Williams sisters are the best thing that has happened to tennis since....well...evolving from wooden rackets. I'm a huge fan of their bod...power game, and they both overwhelm their opponents with such force, it's an amazing sight.

I wasn't happy to see them in a MacDonalds commercial. It's not like they eat that shit anyways with the figures they have. Man, What I wouldn't do with Serena's heaving,
voluptous....tennis racket.

Pat Rafter has always reminded me of Mel Gibson. They look alike.

It's been sunny and in the 60s the last couple of days here in the south. Has made me massively itchy to get back on the tennis court. I am so way out of shape though. I don't think I could keep up with Barry McCutcheon (stayin' alive, stayin' alive!) right now at all. I was out all of last season recuperating from knee reconstruction from a hiking injury.

Speaking of tennis ... I'm gonna digress here as I'm wont to do ... I think the main reason I got into the game many, many moons ago was that my older brother and I are so close in age and he was so damned good at the 'major' sports of football and basball that I went the opposite route with tennis and track.

Hey, Robin McCutcheon, what kinda racket do you play with? Though the widebodies (midsize head) aren't real in vogue at the moment, my preference is still for a Wilson Pro Staff widebody kevlar/graphite composite. Gives me steadier control.

A baseliner here as well. LOVE the long rallies running back and forth until someone gets that one great shot that their opponent just can't quite get to. I remember playing this serve & volleyer once who hated baseline play. I found this amusing way to beat him. He was Michael Chang tall so simply lobbed it nicely to the baseline every time he approached the net. He was either forced to stay back or watched it sail over his head. He got so mad , he stormed off in a 3rd set tie breaker vowing never to play me again.

The power of the the Williams sisters reminds me of when Martina Navratilova entered the women's tennis scene way back when and began to topple the thrown of Chris Evert. The tennis elite likes to hate on pros who come in and dominate.

Now I shall live to begin to pick my game back up so that I can one day meet Andy McCutcheon on the court ....

Viva la' disco.

Yesterday I got my ass kicked in tennis. I just couldn't get the comments the Dixie Chicks made out of me head. Instead of concentrating on the game, I just thought how awful of them. I went right home after losing 6-0, 6-0 and burned all their cd's. now that is half of my cd collection gone. i'm so sad. what is the world coming to when I'm forced by moral duties to burn my own, hard earned cds? my muisc collection will never be the same.

The Company doesnt take it well when you break someone's cover...you should definitely backup your server...in an undisclosed secure location.

Today it is raining so no tennis to being played. I put my feet up in the clubhouse, drinking Freedom Pints and am watching old VHS tapes of Jimmy Conner and John Macenroe battle it out. It's a simpler time when we didn't have flu that can kill you, war for oil, or a government set on fucking all Americans for decades to come. On the old VHS tapes represents the good old days, with Johns swearing at the linesman, Bee Gee hair cuts, short shorts, knee high socks and wooden rackets.

Really you've got old tapes of Connors & MacEnroe (good god did I spell those right?)? That's pretty cool. A guy at work last night mentioned MacEnroe to me. I remember watching Wimbledon every year as a kid.

You remember Boris Becker diving and getting grass stains? That was so cool. I also used to stay up late and watch Soccer Made In Germany. All my sports heroes were Krauts. How can you not worship a guy named Franz?

Isn't it McEnroe? Could be wrong. Not a great speller.

It's raining like hell here today too. Has pissed me off. Wanted to go ride my mountain bike around the college campus next door.

Fuck the old days. I'm all about living in the now, man. Fuck those nappy wooden rackets, the flat bottom canvas tennis shoes, and the to tight high rider shorts with those awful high socks with a stripe around the top. The only thing about the years of old in tennis that I'd like to see more of is backing off on the power. Makes matches to lopsided. Much more fun to watch intense rallies wondering who was going to have the first unforced error. Would also like to see more matches on clay. Slows down the play. Also the players seemed to have more personality back then. Will give you that. Ile Nastase. McEnroe. Connors. Navratilova. Vita Gerulitas. Lendl. Rafter. Chang.

About what years did he play do you know? Of course I remember his name and what he looked like, but I'm also thinking he may have been a little before my time.
