The Definition of Hypocrisy

A recent quote by George Bush Jr. on Saddam Hussein...

"We both recognize the danger of a man -- who is willing to kill his own people -- harboring and developing weapons of mass destruction," Bush said. "Saddam Hussein told the world he would show us that he would not develop weapons of mass destruction, and yet, over the last decade, he has refused to do so."

My take:

Okay America killed its own people. Anybody remember the Native Americans? Anybody remember Waco? Anybody remember MOVE? There are lots of other examples but here is over 20 million examples.

Also, nobody has more nuclear weapons than the USA. Also no one has used them on civilians before except the USA.

How is this statement not hypocrisy? What do you think other countries think when they hear Bush spout this shit?

I'm not saying that Iraq's internal policies are good for the world, but I'm wondering where Bush's four fingers not pointing at Iraq are.

Yeah Sloth, I enjoy hearing your commentary on the Bush administration. Even though you are an expatriate nonetheless, you still like to keep us posted on Bush's bullshit. Since I no longer watch T.V. or read the newspaper, I'm in the dark on what's going on in mainstream, and I'm liking it.

The Native American issue is another story though. Imperialism is still alive and well here in the United States. If you want to get good information on the 1000 year genocidal atrocity of the Native Americans, read it through their own words in a book called "Through Indian Eyes." Well, it's actually written by a historian(cant think of name off hand) who has fought for Native American rights over the years, with commentary from elders and the like. You will learn how Desoto, Cortes, Pissaro and all the other conquistadeur fucks were flithy disease carrying slimes who got off on raping, pillaging, looting, and murdering. Kind of makes one ashamed being of European descent.

Last time I checked guys, Bill Clinton and Janet Reno were the folks who had the final say on Waco. And what did GWB have to do with the plight of Native Americans? I smell a fallacy.

Actually, I believe, neither of us implied anything whatsoever about GWB being involved with the Native American genocide. I merely got off on a tangent that had nothing to do with Bush, and Sloth merely brought to attention GWB's hypocritial speech through some intelligent background. Sloth did a fine job to prove the hypocrisy of the speech. Yeah, GWB personally didn't have anything to do with Waco or Wounded Knee, but the manner in which his quote comes off, no other American official did as well. If you don't think those words by GWB were hypocrisy, you're fooling yourself.

Well J.C., I'd kinda like to know the context of the quote too. I understand what the quote means and you do too. I know America has plenty of weapons, more than any other nation. So I can see the hypocrisy in his statement in a way. (i.e.- We have all the guns and you, Mr. Hussain, can't have em')But you have to remember the reason why he couldn't have those weapons. Hussain has murdered countless Iraqi and Kuaiti citizens. Many others too. He is a madman who shouldn't have been left in power. Do you realize if you were in Iraq right now, you could be executed for being at this website? For some reason I find it hard to believe that George W. Bush would(or could, remember Congress would have to okay it)commit the same against his own people. So anyway, whatever, you can think I'm a fool all you want. But I do have an open mind, so you prove your philosophy to me, okay. And give me your idea of a solution.

I can't really imagine Bill Clinton or GWB going "Just go and kill those damn Waco fools".
