How about them Bengals? 3-0 Next week Houston at home. (I have four tickets woo hoo) Should be able to make it to 4-0. From there we have a real shot at the playoffs. That's all we want. A team in the playoffs. Anything else is a bonus.

Unless something very radical happens in Green Bay. This season is one the pack will want to forget in a hurry.

read this, i didn't know this was going on.

--In 2006 Javon, backed by new agent Kennard McGuire, stated that he would not play for the Green Bay Packers again and would retire if he was not traded. Walker has been at odds with the organization since management refused to renegotiate his contract that had two years remaining on it after his Pro Bowl season in 2004, when he caught 89 passes for 1,382 yards and 12 touchdowns. "I just don't like the way the organization runs itself," Walker told ESPN.com. "They want players to come up there and play hard and work hard, but when it comes time to be compensated, it's like, 'We forgot what you've done.'" Walker also said quarterback Brett Favre's comments on his plans to hold out for a better contract last year made living in Wisconsin difficult, and he felt it was unfair that the team let Favre interfere with Walker's squabble with management. "There's an unwritten rule that players stick together," Walker said. Walker says he will not show up for training camp or come back at all for the final season of his contract regardless of whether Favre decides to retire or return. He said he'll repay the Packers the prorated portion of his signing bonus to leave Green Bay. "Why should I risk another year of getting beat up playing for a team that I don't want to play for? That's stupid," Walker said. Walker said he'll be ready for the 2006 season wherever he lands. "If I'm going to go out and take hits, it's going to be for a team that I love playing for," Walker said. "I'm not going to grandstand. I just want the Packers to give me peace of mind."
Ted Thompson released the following statement regarding the interview:
"During his time as a Green Bay Packer, Javon Walker has been well thought of by everyone here. I like Javon, certainly as a person and as a player. That said, Javon is under contract, which he signed as a 2002 first-round draft choice. That contract is governed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement, which was negotiated between the National Football League and the National Football League Players' Association, and we expect him to honor it. There have been several highly publicized cases of player discontent in the National Football League. I don't anticipate us making any concessions in this matter. We will continue to stay the course, and the Green Bay Packers will have no further comment on this topic."

Beyond that I believe that Favre is holding out on his decision because he wants to see if the Packers are committed to making the entire team better through free agency and the draft. But mostly free agency. I don't think we've done a hell of a lot. Bad things going on in green bay.

Report: Favre will return to Packers
April 26, 2006

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Brett Favre called on the Green Bay Packers to give him a reason to return, a big-time free-agent signing that would make a "statement" about the team's immediate future.

The Packers didn't -- and Favre apparently decided to come back anyway.

ESPN.com reported Tuesday night that Favre has told the Packers he will return to play this year.

The report, citing anonymous team and league sources, said Favre informed Packers general manager Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy of his decision in a telephone conversation Tuesday morning.

Calls by The Associated Press to Thompson, McCarthy, team president Bob Harlan and Favre's agent, James "Bus" Cook, weren't immediately returned.

Team spokesman Jeff Blumb referred all calls to Thompson.

Worries about Favre's future have become an annual rite of winter for Packers fans, as the quarterback has contemplated retirement during the past several offseasons -- only to return each time.

This year apparently was no different.

In his most recent comments on retirement, made April 10 at his annual charity golf tournament, Favre said he wondered whether the team had improved enough in the offseason to justify coming back.

"I'd like to say I think we are better, but I don't know if we are," he said.

Favre said the team needed to make a "statement" similar to the signing of Reggie White in 1993.

But Favre, the NFL's only three-time MVP (1995-97), also said football is "in my blood."

As the Packers' season slid toward a 4-12 finish -- the team's only losing season under Favre -- the three-time NFL MVP said repeatedly that he wasn't sure if he would come back to play a 16th season.

The 36-year-old Favre, who threw a career-high 29 interceptions last season while playing for a team depleted by injuries and free-agency losses, said he wasn't sure he wanted to be part of what he saw as a possible long-term rebuilding effort.

He also claimed he wasn't sure if the team wanted him and his hefty salary to be a part of that effort. He hinted that the team's moves in free agency would play a role in his decision to come back. Favre also questioned his own motivation to continue playing.

Favre ranks second behind Dan Marino on the NFL's career list in touchdown passes (396), yards passing (53,615) and completions (4,678) and hold the records for most consecutive starts by a quarterback with 221 (241, including the playoffs).

Favre has led the Packers to six division crowns and a Super Bowl title, restoring success to one of the NFL's most famous franchises.

The Packers fired coach Mike Sherman after the final game of the season and replaced him with McCarthy, who was Favre's quarterbacks coach in Green Bay during the 1999 season. They also re-signed running back Ahman Green, who missed most of last season because of a knee injury.

But Favre continued to waffle in the offseason as the Packers struck out on high-profile free agents.

Sticking to Thompson's stated philosophy of not splurging for the sake of splurging in the free-agent market, the Packers lost veteran kicker Ryan Longwell to the division rival Minnesota Vikings and lost out in the bidding for a potential replacement, free agent kicker Adam Vinatieri, who signed with the Indianapolis Colts.

Linebacker LaVar Arrington spurned an offer from the Packers to sign with the New York Giants. The team continues to wait for an answer from defensive back Charles Woodson.

The Packers' two most high-profile free-agent signings have been former St. Louis Rams defensive tackle Ryan Pickett and former Seattle Seahawks safety Marquand Manuel. The team also has re-signed fullback William Henderson and wide receiver Rod Gardener.

Ok so we have Brett back, and now we signed Charles Woodson, big time DB from the raiders, he and harris will start at corners and we can leave douche bags merrit and thomas to the nickle situations.
With that we now have the draft coming up. It looks like we will either take lb AJ hawk or DE Mario Williams. Williams would be phenomenal but he might go before our pick at 5 either way our defense just got better. who's going to catch the ball and who's going to stop favre from getting pummeled are the next questions.
