Pixie is the craziness I need
Pixie is the craziness I need
Having talked with the mighty Ms. Pixie on the telephone, this evening, drunk out of my mind, I can confirm that the lady is crazy, that we need more like her in this world.
Also I am going to try to avoid a hangover tonight. I have my water here. she's working "at the desk" but sadly I'm not in a sober enough frame of mind to even contemplate what that means.
I've played some Nick Drake tonight and may play more. Because this is a Celebration, with or without Kook & the Gang. I mean Kool & the Gang hahahahah,.
Jesus what kind of hangover am I in for?
Only time will tell. Which is the name of a cheesy 80's song by Asia - remember that video with the squares on the screen "Only Time Will Tell"?
Okay okay I know shut up about Asia we canthink of better music to listen to eh? Than cheesy 80's crap eh? ah hahahahahahahah
Come on everyone, pick your favourite useless piece of crap 80's hit!!!!!!!! I want to hear it, we can make a special Paxacidus compilation of crap 80's hits! hahahahahahahahah That would make my day!

Actually I'm surprised how well I did this morning. My cat woke me up which is normal, but alas, I did not have a headache. I really do think it makes a difference if you don't eat a lot of salty foods the night before. Like if I'd eaten pizza I think it would have been bad. I drank a lot of water, but then sometimes you can drink a lot of water and STILL come out bad. I did good. I was hungover for about an hour and a half and then felt fine enough to go out and do the errands I needed to do.
I went walking by the cemetary today. There was a bagpipe player there because they had a funeral. It was nice to hear. I turned off my discman to hear it for awhile. Needless to say it's actually SUNNY IN SEATTLE TODAY so everything looks and feels completely different than it normally does.
It is a blue sky, yes, a blue sky today.
And what a lovely day for drinking! I'm about to run out of some other green things though which doesn't make me happy.
Happy Mondays first album is on at the moment.

I've got a couple of them (and no, one of them is NOT "Danger Zone from Top Gun, although that's good for cheesy 80'sness)
Here they are: Pour Some Sugar on Me (is thatthe title? By Def Leppard) also, "You Belong to the City". I don't remember who thats by, but I'm on a Miami Vice kick now, and that was on an episode. All the music on that show rocked for the time.

i have a funny beach story about pour some sugar on me. that is a terrible song, there are so many. it's hard to say really what the worst was, but what is funny is that kids are wearing tee's again for these bands.
where is myke? i'd love to ask him about the magic attic i'm sure he knows what i'm talking about!
another really terrible 80's song, hmmm. god anything by wilson philips they were terrible i wanted to scream -- no god no i do not want to hold on for one more day of this song that is on every radio station.
the 80's were when i got into classic rock because there was nothing else here. and i started riding to school with a senior who liked "ROCK!" -- i was a very stupid kid.
i remember thinking that 38 special were really cool and then i saw them in concert and thought, oh, i was very wrong about that.
then in the 90's i thought hey the 80's had some good fun music. so. . . you know to each his own terrible hair band.
i think they're making a new miami vice movie. i actually wrote a short story a few years ago and both miami vice and the magic attic were intregal to the overall nothingness of the story. it was about existentialism.

haha yes yes I am crazy.
I scouted out some awesome warehouses Saturday - but alas forgot the camera and ended up spending the night with J at work. One party idea has been successfully killed:
"Bring Back the Aloha - or Burn It Down" Around the late 90's to early 2000s (ie when I was in highschool) all the good raves were at a skating rink venue called The Aloha. It was an awesome venue though because it wasn't welll ... a warehouse and in the county not the city-city (a not-so-wonderful-area of the county, but it makes county kids feel safer, kids here are afraid of the city).
Alas - The Aloha has been burned down ... or actually turned into a church.
... and my cheesy 80's contribution:
"Pass the Dutchie" by Musical Youth and "If You Leave" OMD
... shit! all the tracks my friend gave me (the transfering I was doing all night at the Desk friday mark) aren't here... they didn't copy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aggghhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man mark ... I am not into disco (suprising isn't it) ... but still ...
I'll make you a ravey mix cause well... I luv you.
and btw - that message is saved until my phone won't let me save it anymore... that's so precious! Mark I luv you. You're the only one who calls me and leaves interesting messages. Everyone else leaves messages that go something like
"Hey pretty lady .. .haven't seen you for awhile... what's up... any parties ... yeah yeah ... are you dead?"

Pixie this is all great to hear. I know I called and left a message today but I don't remember what I said. As a rule, Sundays I never remember anything about. I recall speaking with Tommy today as well, but once again, it's all pretty much a blank.
Still that doesn't mean that the enjoyment of phone conversation should be denied just because a person is too drunk to remember it later.
I gotta say, I think Maverick has a mighty keen sense of what is bad about 80's music. "Danger Zone" would be absolutely intolerable were it to come on. And "You Belong To The City" is actually by the same guy that did "The Heat Is On". I won't say his name because it's boring but he used to be in The Eagles.
Pixie, Musical Youth actually sounded great at the time. But I find it difficult to defend the song, now, I'll give you that.
That sounds like a great story about existentialism, Sarah. Do we get to read it?
Yeah, Wilson Phillips makes me cringe when I hear it in the store now. I think it's kindof funny at the same time, though like you know watching a bad b-movie.
38 Special? oh my god. That was one band that never should have gotten together in the first place.
If You Leave by OMD irks the hell out of me, it really does.
I didn't like it at the time, either.
I think worse than all of this, though is Air Supply. When I hear them in the store, I mean, it is so bad. They were sooo oooo bad. "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" and crap like that. Jesus, I mean...ouch.
I'm kindof excited because my friend just burned me some stuff by Joan Jett's first band the Runaways, they were this all female band in the late 70's that had Lita Ford in them too . Man, they were really good.
