Moss and Doherty

Post by Sloth »

Kate is back in the news for her so called 'affair'with Pete Doherty of Babyshambles and their mutual love of cocaine and opiates.

H&M knows that the only thing that sells better than sex is sex and drugs and rock and roll, so they are 'giving her another chance'. How nice of them. I'm sure it will reflect in the balance sheet. In fact i had to wait in line for 10 minutes to buy something today at H&M so somebody must be paying attention.

Plus I am tickled to know that when faced with the choice of indulging and not indulging some people are still indulging, because I know if I had a chance to do cocaine with Kate Moss I would definitely be there.

Oh yeah and fuck the party poopers.

Also considering the lead singer is a frequent crack smoking heroin addict who misses 90% of his shows and played Glastonberry with his fly down, Babyshambles is not such a bad band.

On the new HELP album, which is more than just a photo opp with Bono like Live 8... there is a new Babyshambles track called from Bollywood to Battersea.

In other Pete news, he is on the cover of NME for the 40th time in the last year. And they always say he smokes crack during his interviews and threatens to kill them.

Oh yeah, and he loves to sing Janis Joplin songs with Kate Moss.

babyshambles cd

Post by martino »

ok i know this is not new. but it really does have legs (on my playlist, at least). i have been listening to it since around easter. the songs are great -- strong and varied, lyrical and foul, and recorded in a nice clean sound. the musicians are superb, especially bass & guitar. and doherty is a breathtaking mixture of brilliance and fuckup.

(having said that, the reggae-oid tracks are horrible).

this cd is also memorable for me because it is the first time my sweet daughter steered me to a new recording that really impressed me.

the music is also good for a nice party game -- identify the tracks on which katies sings!

Hey, who doesn't love cocaine and opiates? Especially when consumed in tandem.

The last time I heard babyshambles I liked what I heard, but for some reason it slipped through the cracks. Not sure why.
I might have been alarmed that I actually liked it, since I don't like whatever that other band's name was. Libertines, yeah. I really just don't think the Libertines are that great. Okay but not great.

So anyway, maybe babyshambles are due a re-listen.
