Amateur Night In The Big Top hails the return of northern soul brother Shaun William Ryder and the mad beat poet rouge is back in fine form. Now this is fuckin' deep groove drug music. Watch out for the killer clowns and the scooter girls with the long legs. Makes the White Stripes sound, well, like a mop top boy and his ugly chick sister just playing guitar and drums.

What is Amateur Night In The Big Top?

I got my LTM "Cool As Ice" compilation in the mail today. It took awhile...I think Darla must have had problems getting it from overseas. But it's FUN. Leave it to New Order to turn what would otherwise be cheesy 80's electro dance music into something not so cheesy as one would cynically think. Harmless hedonistic Factory fun. Incase you care, McC, the vinyl is only available at the end of the month according to the LTM website. So if you DID want it, at least you haven't missed out on it yet.

Also, McC, you will probably kill me but there was this German music journalist girl I knew in Manchester in 1991 and she asked me to go meet Bobbie Gillespie one day and I was mad at her and I said no and there was all this other shit going down. So I didn't go.

I only recently even remembered this.

Shaun Ryder is the Don. Only heard 'The Story' of Amateur Night In The Big top so far but it is good.

The whole thing is good. 8 tracks in total, all of them around the 7 minute mark. All of them, to me, tell a story. No one can swear with the gusto of X.
