So I got out of class and called my girlfriend, who was very despondant and crying outside my old house. She was picking up my mail. I asked her if she'd been drinking and she said she had had one drink at the pub. She was crying and being very upset about missing me and being outside my house wasn't helping. So I told her she should leave my house and go home to Cedarburg. Very faintly I heard someone (not her) say shit. I asked her who it was but she didn't respond. Then the phone cut out.
Then the phone cut out and I called her back about thirty seconds later. She seemed a bit distracted but started asking how my day was and normal shit like that. Occasionally I would heer her say fuck, fuck, shit... stuff like that. Then she said a van was following her. I asked what the big deal was, it's a city, cars follow people coincidentally all the time. Later I asked her if the van was gone and she said yes. Then she said,"I'm in so much trouble."
"Why?" I asked
"I just hit two cars," she said casually. Apparently she backed into a car and then sideswiped another car.
"Were their people in the cars I asked?"
"Yes in both of them." It became quite obvious to me what was really going on and I tried to piece as much facts together quickly so I could help her, allude the law someway.
She backed into a car waiting to take her spot. Hit it. Tried to flee, and in fleeing, hit another car. And fled again. People shouted at her to stop but she kept going while casually asking about my day. Obviouslyl the van followed her, got the plates and called it in because just as I was advising her to park her car, get out and walk away from it (two hit and runs is better than 2 hit and runs plus a DUI) she said she was getting pulled over and hung up...
End of what I know about that.
So I called Jack Chieften cause I kind of felt I needed to tell someone. I took a chance and Jack was at home in town, staying with his dad. Told him my spiel, my feelings of guilt, he reassured me it wasn't my fault so I asked him how it was going,
A week ago he had sent an email to me saying he was going to steal this guy's girlfriend. Now This guy, isn't just anyone, he's got to be one of the most annoying little pricks I'd ever met. Go for it I says.
So on the phone with Jack and he tells me he did indeed steal the girl. They'd been having the most wonderful time all weekend. The guy doesn't know but Jack figures he won't see him for a while...Jack gets a call on the other line...i wait...he gets back on, not going to believe this...that's her and This Guy he in front of her house, drunk and screaming at her. I told him he should probably go over there, defend his girl and all that good stuff... so he said he'll call me back.
End of what I know about that.
Strange night, and all i really wanted to do was go to sleep.
FUCK
Jack, Jake and their cute girlfriends
II
I'm never going to sleep tonight...i called the pub and got in touch with ma girl's art teacher who was drinking with her earlier in the day (who coincidentally hates me) I gave her the details so we could try and track her down. She's on her way to pick her up now, i guess she got some tickets. Anyone heard that Daniel Johnstone / Flaming Lips song "Go?" It's a good one...
As for Jack, I hope he doesn't get shot or something by this angry (now) ex-boyfreind. Barring a gun, Jack can easily kick his ass. Life in Wisconsin...
