he towers above any other musician i can think of

he re-reconciles us old europeans with the now absurd idea that the u.s. is the land of the free and the brave

hell, when my best drinking buddy kenorbi dj'd the other night the topic was "country showdown" and the playlist was 50% johnny cash

still, my collection is so incomplete you could say it is pitiful

i want to get to know him better before he dies

pax acidus wrote about johnny cash in a way i could never better

pax acidus knows more about music than i ever will

so i ask pax acidus: which johnny cash records are best; must own

which are good for the collector

and which are best avoided

please advise

thanks

June cash died. My feelings go out to Johnny and the rest of the Carter family.

Martino: I'll agree with you on the talent and fortitude of Johnny Cash and his musical legacy. Your post might have even been poingant were it not for yet another snide remark implying that America is the land of the captive and home of the coward. Come on, man ... let it go! Hell, I could make a snippy little come back but even I don't have the energy anymore. Hell, I know Europe has problems but I don't assume the whole continent is going to hell in a handbasket. Good there. Good here. Bad there. Bad here. Goes both ways. End of story.

JC is a living legend. I know not much about Johnny Horton. Brett, care to share any of your faves? I could always use exposure to good music. I'll pay you for postage and send you a blank cd. It'd likely get here quicker than the one McCutcheon recorded a few months ago!!!! HA!

Myke, heard about any weapons of destruction found in Iraq lately?

Didn't think so.

Oh, we were talking about country music. Well I'm not way into country music, infact most of the time I can't stomach it, but Johnny Cash is cool, and I like Patsy Cline, too.
