Harold and Maude
Harold and Maude
This movie is just incredible.
I love the Cat Stevens soundtrack...the BOLDNESS of a film like this made over 30 years ago.
It's my favorite.
Maude: I should like to change into a sunflower most of all. They're so tall and simple. What flower would you like to be?
Harold: I don't know. One of these, maybe.
Maude: Why do you say that?
Harold: Because they're all alike.
Maude: Oooh, but they're *not*. Look. See, some are smaller, some are fatter, some grow to the left, some to the right, some even have lost some petals. All *kinds* of observable differences. You see, Harold, I feel that much of the world's sorrow comes from people who are *this*,
[she points to a daisy]
Maude: yet allow themselves be treated as *that*
[she gestures to a field of daisies]
If I'm making any sense, then I haven't made myself clear.

I watched that with a friend in a university library on one of their TV's. I liked it, but he liked it more than I did.
I recall us also watching the movie "1984" on a laser disc in the same library and having to stifle our laughter when the disc kept repeating this one part where Julia takes off her clothes. It just kept on skipping at that part over and over and over.

Just getting older.
Grow up people. We are adults.
I was in the video store today and I saw these two cute girls down the isle so I sorta walked on over to get a better view. And they were just girls. Not women. And their conversation made me feel real old.
"Should we rent Trainspotting?"
"What's that?"
"I don't know. It's an older film, but I hear it is okay."
Shit soon I will be doing my own version of the Big Fucking Chill (Out).

awwww
MC don't let dumb girls make you feel old - it's not THAT old of a film.
I'm only a girl and I know it and love it... it's not their fault they're not cool enough to know what Trainspotting is.
Oh wait... or maybe I'm just a huge dork because I do; and because I happen to own every book Irvine Welsh has ever published that I could get my hands *and* even some imitations like Smack by... I don't even remember.
anyway, I'm just a girl and I know what Trainspotting is.

Currently I'm just loafing in STL trying to find a microwave for my dorm... (okay, not that I care - I don't eat that much my five meals a week will be more than sufficiant but my roommate probably doesn't have the fucked up eating habits I do so I better find one)

I've been to St Louis. It's my favorite little cafe in the south of France.

Fun is important.
Why don't you come here? I'm naked and drunk and could really show you some fun. And when the fun is over for the third time that hour we can watch Trainspotting and then have some more fun.
