While they were smashing plates late into the night out in Astoria, the English around town still have tears in their ale. A headline from the Guardian read ‘Beckham admits morality'. Should have been, ‘Beckham admits he sucks'. Adidas should ask for their money back, wait no they shouldn't- they love giving loads of money and endorsements to pretty people without much talent. I mean Adidas made Anna the highest paid tennis player even though she never won a single match in a grand slam, least not in singles anyway. But she does have the record for most double faults in a match. And now David has two missed penalties in one Euro tournament. I always thought it funny that when a player from Real Madrid was asked about Becks joining the squad he said, “Oh, he's okay, not as good as the guy he replaced, but you know, it's all about money.

Okay who am I kidding, I know it is wrong but I still love Anna and David, as a matter a fact they would have made a great couple.

BBC website made the interesting observation that the big leagues of Europe (Spain,Italy,Germany and England) were out. Most of the French side play in these leagues too. The gist of the argument was that the national sides were just too fatigued mentally and physically. Knowing the style and pace of the premier league that certainly makes sense.

Martin Amis, (yes, that Marin Amis) writing about football in the Guardian today, floated the idea that all England players sit out for at least ten games a season. Unworkable, I know but you know what he is getting at.
