Thumbs Up!
Thumbs Up!
They said it gets worse. It got worse. Here is an article of an American soldier giving the thumbs up over a corpse.

I believe that sometimes humanity as a majority can be disgustingly careless and wreckless. This man is a prime example. Please, if you have any compassion at all for the human race, do not follow this man's example.
People like this have motivated me to become a pacifist. I have done well in the past week or so that I have made this decision. First I stopped aggressive behaviors, and secondly I am not working on not using offensive verbal communication. Wish me luck!

Okay but my point was, it wasn't even in the headlines for like two days after it was in the Guardian.
And stop with your surly attitude, boy. You have me to thank after all. I had to call them myself and tell them Uncle Slothers was gonna come over there and fart on their heads if they didn't run the story.

Wow ... offensive verbal communication ... I'd be a bad pacifist on that one alone as I espouse them daily.
I'd have to echo what Tommy said "... a pacifist is someone who believes there is nothing worth fighting for. Don't be a daft cunt and join them. Find the things worth fighting for and fucking fight or you lose."
There ARE things worth fighting for. Clearly not everyone will ever agree that the war in Iraq was a worthwhile cause. And even if you were for it, you have to recognize how badly things have been handled by the Bush Administration. However, even now there is something worth fighting for ... preventing full scale civil war in Iraq. Regardless of many would like us to do, we can not wholesale back out. We MUST make that country as stable as possible before any troop withdrawals begin. I hope Bush is handily defeated in November and the UN will then be brought in. It wouldn't nearly as much like an occupying force to the Iraqi people (I hope).
Whatever you believe ... know this ... don't wish for an early complete troop withdrawal leaving an even more bloody, chaotic situation for the Iraqis just so you can say an even more hearty "I told you so" to Bush/Cheney/Rove.
myke

guys you speaketh baloney. gandhi was a pacifist whilst fighting for what was right. ml king too. a pacifist can, perhaps even must, fight.
look it up in your funk and wagnells... "[n]  someone opposed to violence as a means of settling disputes"
i am not a pacifist because i believe violence is sometimes, albeit rarely, justified. but i tip my hat to nick and to anybody else who tries to de-escalate everyday life.
