we deserve death

Post by mccutcheon »

we go into countries and kill people, we think we are hereos but we ain't and this is our news. it's time for us to die like the Romans. we lost it. (but I still want to be part of the last orgy thing)

NEW YORK - Viewers are used to watching "Saturday Night Live" aired live. Live, as in: as it happens, not five or seven seconds later, once the censors say it's safe for broadcast.

But is Janet Jackson safe to serve as this weekend's host for "Saturday Night Live" — live?

trust me, NYC is a liberal city, Bush thinks he has friends he always going on about terrorists. fuck, shows how little he knows, kinda like dad not being able to use a check out stand.

tell your friend to go to Canada and play hockey. if he dies it isn't defending this country. he is going on the attack and that is wrong. there is no reason for the 600 US deaths and thousands of injuries, not counting the Iraqis, who count too.

hey Myke, if your friend dies how are you gonna feel about Bush' 's words, "Bring it on!" I mean stop and really think. This is what our leader told our enemy. Even in junior league you are told not to rile up your apponent. Bush cares not one god damn fuck about our people dying. And I care more. I want them to stop fighting, to stop killing and be killed and go play hockey.

The difference between you and me is that I can separate my distaste for the politicians who initiated this quagmire from my pride in young men and women from this country and a few others who are attempting to serve their country as best they can. As Maverick once pointed out, when an individual signs up for the military, one hopes they realize what they are getting themselves in for especially in the sense that they might often have to separate their personal politics from their jobs as soilders which they voluntarily signed up to do. I'm certainly not going to go and hope that more death is wrought upon our soilders in order to teach those bad old politicians in the white house a lesson. I'm going to voice my opinion and hopefully help to vote the administration out.

if ya knew me simon ya would know I'm loyal to my friends. you don't see the Pax Acidus persona from the real person. I don't blame you. I don't show that side, because that side is real and often dull. and I'm not a coward. if NYC gets attacked, if seattle gets attacked, if wisconsin gets attacked, na they can have sconnie-- just kidding--I have to always write JK with you because you never get a joke you humourless cunt, anyway if we have enemy soldiers on our streets I'd be held up in a bar all right, taking pot shots and trying to kill the bastards. But in my heart I don't believe killing is ever right, and if I killed a person, any person because I try to see good in all- then I'd probably really start drinking to get over my horror.

but like you say- fuck me, why do you care what I say or do or write. don't be so pissed off all the time and don't bring your guns to town.

See, I suppose there's one thing we have in common. I don't think you can separate what you read from me as being just what it is ... responses to other things I read here. Doesn't mean I'm pissed off all the time and doesn't mean I'm a humorless cunt. I'm just regular cunt, thank you very much.

Oh, and I have no reason to see the good in every person as I truly believe some are simply evil. I've never killed a beast nor a man and get called in my office to catch the occasional bee or spider as they know I will find a way to get it outside rather than kill it. However, if I HAD to, it wouldnt' drive me to drink anymore than I do now. if that's what's gotta be.

How would anyone .. you or I .. ever know if another is not a complete cunt when one only knows a tiny shard of a person's personality that is displayed online? It can't be known unless you know one another in the hard real world. And that's not likely to ever be in the case of you and I.

Mc is not a coward... no coward could drink that much.

Myke, if I had a friend about to go to Iraq I would be teaching him the difference between a loony and a twony. Hero or invader... your friend is about to go through Hell.

Sorry to hear it man. Hope he doesn't kill anyone and comes back alive.

Good luck to your friend Myke, and here's a poem i wrote for Jason, my hubby, my navy guy, and for me when somebody attacked our habits -- you do what you gotta do -- ya know?

Enabling, 1
Why do you call me an enabler?
Enunciating like I'm aiding
a dirty liar
A soil, a stain on truth.
I am no psychiatrist,
And I love dirty words.
Let me break them
Up and down
And show you
That filth is also freedom.

I have marked all my favorite passages
In that novel and given it to him.

He read it and made up things
That he liked when really
He liked nothing at all
Except me

You read George Bush's biography
While she drove and reading in cars
Made you sicker than George

Enabling, 2
After the sea, after soldier sculpted sailors
After living with their philosophy
You came back to me in pieces
I found some glue
In the desk drawer
Underneath the lyrics
to your favorite song,
And we made a collage
Out of all of our pictures
I cut up your music,
Pasted
All you need is love, love is all you need, all you need is love, love is all you need, all you need is love
Over my mouth
And wished you would come back to me again
And you did.

Enabling, 3
He lights my cigarettes
When I get the shakes
Knowing that one day they will kill me,
Also knowing that they still my hands
So that I can write.

I buy his next round
Knowing that one day
He will be old, bloated, and bleary
Also knowing that he is laughing
As he pulls me closer right now.

I have chosen to watch him
riding down our gravel road
On his motorcycle
With his suicide helmet
In his hand
His smile, involuntary, as he waves.

I have seen smiles and waves
From the sideline of his life,
Bright white, clean light,
Fourth of July forcing salutes.
I sat still, hands in my lap
As he marched by and fathers
Rose to their feet for him.

Nothing can make my hands
Move away from me faster
Than his, grease smeared, holding his helmet
Against his oldest jeans
Because I know
That if he comes back in pieces
I have pictures and paste,
And he has the words to his song.

Good god, Sarah. You leave one speechless. That's powerful poetry folks. Ahem. Time for intermission, popcorn, a simple fool to come out and dance for the court.

"I'm just a regular cunt, thank you very much." - Myke

It's okay Myke. As long as you're a regular cunt, you're okay by me. But if you were any other KIND of cunt, well...

Here's another quote from an Iraqi I read today that gave me pause. I paraphrase, but the essence is clear: "They came to overthrow Saddam. Why are the fighting those who were oppressed by him?"

I don't truly think anyone who signs up for the armed forces believes they might be called into a conflict with which they disagree "politically". Am I wrong in this thinking?

Wow, Sara, that poem was excellent. It made all of the arguments that preceded it seem meaningless. The best thing about it is that it is obvious that it came out of true feelings. Thanks for sharing it.

Myke- right on, you've expressed some tricky concepts quite well, and I agree with you on all but one thing. For all of McCutcheon's pacifistic ramblings, he would be a good ally to have in a bad situation. I didn't always think this, but as I came to know him, in the "real world" as you put it, I learned that friendship and loyalty mean more to him than even his beloved Guiness. He would, as we would, fight for his friends if it were necessary. He wouldn't seek the conflict, but if it came to him he wouldn't give up until those he cared about were safe. I respect him for that, and you as well for respecting that trait in others. Despites your fundamental political differences, I think you two could be friends, away from the "online" personas.

Mark- right or wrong, a soldier's political beliefs do not matter. They swear to do a job, which is to follow orders. As long as those orders do not violate certain conventions, they have no free will or choice to disobey them. I believe I have said it before, that a soldier cannot debate the merits of an order before carrying it out, or his/her personal views on a certain situation. They are subject to the whim of their commanders, who are ultimately subject to the whim of the Commander-In-Chief. Every military person from the greenest private to the most war-hardened Generals must do this. It is their unfortunate luck that they are fulfilling their obligations during the term of a president who sees them as expendable. This is ultimately why I did not enter military service, as I once strongly considered. I knew that I am too much of a free-thinker to follow orders unquestioningly, and that is a requirement to having a strong functioning military. It would be chaos if they all thought for themselves, so they are taught to wait for others to think for them. It's what basic training is all about, it's what drilling and marching is all about. I would venture to guess that many, if not most, of those who enlist in the military understand that at least for the term of their service, they will not be able to openly express dissention with their superiors. When they get out, it's a different story. Then they can tell about all of the things they were ordered to do that they didn't agree with.

MY question is, where is the intelligence community as the Iraqis are clearly outmaneuvering our troops? Since Sadaam was captured, attacks have become more well planned, rather than less. Surgical strikes and violence targeted at specific victims has increased. Someone on the wrong side is a brilliant tactician, and they have our people scrambling. It disturbed me to see that some of the bodies of dead American civilians they showed on the news seemed to bear evidence of non-lethal gunshot wounds-suggesting that perhaps they were captured and tortured before they were killed. Possibly for information about other civilian operations that will soon become targets.Where is our intelligence?

there is no fucking intelligence. it's all lies by a bunch of oil-greedy fucking bastards trying to distract us from the fact that they can't find osama, who is the real person that attacked us. bush took my friend away. if my friend loses a leg then i hope bush loses a leg. if my friend dies then i hope bush dies. i don't care if that's wrong; he took my fucking best friend from me and won't send him back.
