Marky relives his New Romantic teenagerhood

Post by marky » Sun Dec 17, 2006 11:12 am

With Japan's "Quiet Life" - my favourite album of theirs but not owned by me for many many years. I just bought it on CD yesterday. See what lovely things the Roxy Music influence wrought circa 1979!!!

Also I am on a huge Ultravox trip - I've got three of their early 80's albums starting with the masterpiece "Vienna" from 1980. Many of these songs I haven't heard since I was...13? 14? I used to have their double LP "The Collection" which is fantastic place to start with them, I think. Every review I have read of it says the same thing, that it is a fantastic compilation.

WE ARE TALKING ABOUT SYNTHESIZERS AND NEW WAVE HERE. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT PRIME BRITISH MUSIC.

Next thing you know I will probably pull out Gary Numan.
