Terrible

Post by bfj »

Last night I played an open mic in Broolyn. When I got up to play I noticed the treble was really high but I'd already started playing 'Dead Song' I kept thinking about how bad it sounded and people started leaving. After the song I made adjustments on my guitar--turned the brilliance all the way down, the treble all the way down, the mids all the way down and the bass all the way up. I started playing 'Ocean Floor', still horrible. I sounded like an ambulence screaming through manhatten. It was hopeless. There was nothing I could do but tell the sound guy to turn the hi's down on his board but it's an open mic and everyone had decided I was terrible or left by that point. So I played 'Crush of Sympathy' screamed a bit, forgot more and more chords as the sound punished my own ears. To get a better sense of what I sounded like, if you have fillings in your mouth, wad up some aluminam foil and chew on it. I cut the song short, opened my eyes and saw there were more people outside than inside the bar. I got off stage, slammed my beer, gathered my stuff and walked out as fast as I could, past the smoking hipsters and completely in the wrong direction. Boy was I terrible.

New Album - Let Go

Post by bfj »

I know, i know, "Spite" isn't finished yet but I'm writing more songs that don't fit on spite so I've started working on the second album called "Let Go" Hear the first song 'Translucent' on my myspace site, the link will follow. It's a very different BFJ sound, let me know what you think.
