Sausage swat lands Simon in hot water

Four people in sausage costumes regularly race around the bases at Milwaukee Brewers home games. Pittsburgh first baseman Randall Simon was booked for misdemeanor battery for hitting one of the Milwaukee Brewers' racing sausages with a bat during Wednesday night's game. Simon was released, said a spokeswoman for the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department. Simon will meet with the district attorney's office Thursday, and it will be up to prosecutors to determine whether formal charges are filed.

In a few weeks the Pittsburgh Perogies are going to be racing the Milwaukee Sausages in Pittsburgh. I'm not making this up. I really wish I was, but I'm not. I so sad.
