Is it because the world series happens during the run up to halloween that baseball failure is always described as a curse?
I'm trying to think of a curse in English soccer. I recall Coventry City winning the FA cup in the eighties. The first trophy in the over 100 year history of the club. Nothing about a curse though. In 1958 half the Man Utd team (including the footballing genius Duncan Edwards age 24 and already captain, the world will never know how great he would have gone on to be) were wiped out in a plane crash. People only recall the snow on the runway not some ghostly shrouded figure pointing a bony finger.
Still, wouldn't it be lovely if A- it's not about the money, fuck off Seattle-Rod is cursed.
