Have been catching up on th escribbles. McC mentioned the movie Friday night lights. Haven't seen it - don't want to. The book though is another matter. I don't read too many books on US sports. This one is a cracker. It set off a debate in Odessa Texas that still reverberates to this day. It is not a light read and I don't think I'm giving too much away by saying it about more thatn highschool football.

In short it is first rate journalism. Sadly I gave my copy away. You will have to buy your own. Get the latest edition with the ten years later update on the major chararcters.
