NBA Finals
OK, I know that most of you here hate the Lakers, and probably just plain don't care one way or the other about the Pistons, but you should be watching the finals anyway. No matter what you say about the Lakers, they can really create some Drama.
There's all the talk about the "big four" and how great a team money can buy, but it hasn't really been those four that are the difference. OK, Shaq and Kobe yes, but Gary Payton? Please, he turns the ball over almost every time he touches it. Karl Malone? He's damn good, and supposedly a team leader emotionally, but his age and injuries haven't allowed him to be a true star. The most interesting part of the games has been watching the young guys and the non starters come in and create plays that the stars can't.
In the playoffs it was Derek Fisher who kept them in several games with his three-pointers, and in last nights game you had to see rookie/white guy Luke walton to believe it. He was creating all kinds of plays for the big guys that they weren't creating for themselves. He seemed to be as much a leader on the court as a veteran like Malone. Maybe it's because the poor guy probably ate dtrank and slept basketball since he was born because of his dad, but whatever, he is more intersting to watch than Payton.
no blowouts here, 1-1 and on to Detroit.

I don't have T.V so i can't watch but I'm calling Pistons in 6. I'm of the belief you can only fill a team up with so much offensive power. You know. If you took the top five scorers on a team they would still only score like 100 points a night. Not 130. Their are limits. So what the Lakers could use is some bad ass defenders like the Pistons and a balance team. Not just some old fuckers and young cock suckers!
I am picking LA in six.
We'll see if I'm on the right track tonight. Shaq and Kobe are unstoppable when they are in the right frame of mind. If the Lakers could stop San Antonio they are gonna roll over Detroit eventually. That's my take. The big surprise in all of this is that Malone and Payton are offensively speaking nonfactors.
