Greek Islands & Sweden... or Wisconsin?

Post by Sloth »

I was just invited to visit a friend in Greece for x-mas on the Greek island of Kos. Then of course naturally we could hop over to Sweden to see the friends and inlaws...

So I tell Ingrid and she says...

"Wisconsin sounds more exotic to me. You promised we could go there."

Yeah but if you think about it, it's maybe natural for someone like her to see Wisconsin as exotic. As to whether I'd let that keep me from the Greek Islands, well...that's up to you Slothie. Oh no, I don't like that spelling. Slothy is better. Rhymes with frothy. Like the Guinness I'm about to run out of.

God knows why I'm drinking on a Tuesday. This is supposed to be my "catch up on sleep day".

I actually did visit Milwaukee once. It was cold, and well...not all that exciting.

Just an afterthought...did Ingrid grow up in a big city or in the country or somewhere in between?

Mark, call me ASAP because I'm on a bender, and tomorrow might be off. But come on over.

Mark I'm now in Wisconsin so don't come over today. I'm flying to Greece tomorrow out of Chicago. Turns out I got a job on Ios judging an all female wet toga contest. Earthquakes be damned. Let's shake it up.

Postcard post from Greece.

The flight was fine. I listened to Amateur Night In The Big Top's The Story the whole way high on charlie. Just like my hero Shaun. When I arrived and everyone was getting off I was coming up.

The weather here is lovely. Glad your all not here. Had a look around Homer's grave. Rented a motorbike for the day. Went skinny-dipping last night. Swimming in the dark ocean with all that warm water over your naked body is so invigorating. I went with this girl but she disappeared. Must have got bored and went in without telling me. I was a little mad she blew me off like that. Funny though, she is staying in the hotel room next to me and I haven't seen her today either.

I'm playing footie on the beach with boys from Spain and drinking games at the Far Out cafe with topless Swedish girls.

A Brazilian girl named Duda with a statuesque figure won the toga contest. We celebrated by pouring Retsina over her whole body (it really is hard to drink that stuff.) Well, back to my Ouzo. I'll keep in touch.

Glad to hear you're having fun, McC - what a coincidence - I'm traveling right now as well - on a spaceship to Pluto! We're in cruise mode now so I'm just watching the stars pass by through the giganatic window as I trip on 3 hits of pure LSD. Some aliens sold it to us at the last traveler's stop back on Jupiter. They make some mean LSD on Jupiter, that's for sure. There's a pretty stewardess on this ship who keeps making eyes at me. But I'm a little wary of these space travelers. Who knows where they've been if you know what I mean.

I wonder if anyone knows that on August 27th at 2:51 a.m. Pacific time, Mars is supposed to be closer to earth than it has been in like 60,000 years. It's retrograde in Pisces and will oppose Venus and the Moon as it hits that point. Plus, within 48 hours after that, Pluto will go direct and Mercury will go retrograde. I can't guarantee something horrible will happen, but...the astrological omens don't look good. Good thing I'll be on this spaceship and not down on earth with you lot! Wish you were here!

I don't know why I never realized how cool The Damned's "New Rose" was before. Must be the LSD.

BTW, McC, have you ever checked out Jive Time Records in Fremont? Just curious.

Yes I've been there. In Fremont, which is billed as the center of the universe. I liked the Damn's version of White Rabbit. It's everything a novelty song about LSD should be about. Listen to that on your travels Mark. Also did you know that Pluto is no longer a planet.

Today in Greece we are going sailing.

yes Mark, I just got back from the family beach trip -- we saw mars, with the telescope, with the binoculars, with the naked eye, with smokes in hand, with friends while we drank, sorry -- if conversation failed, there was always mars.

Great to hear you saw it, Sarah. I figured even the astrological skeptics could have fun with that, but I didn't realize it was already viewable in the sky.

...and if the conversation fails again, there's always a chance to see Uranus.

I apologize to Sarah for that one, but it had to be done. I hope I don't lose another star for that one.
