if you are a coming back wait until april mate! and Mark I'm starting to not understand all your sentences man. you need a guinness to sort you out. and another thing everyone should start reading Richard Yates. Could a been the best American writer ever but you now, failed marriages, depression, nervous breakdowns, drinking himself into the ground, being someone everyone else couldn't stand besides his art, and the JFK assasination stopped all that. he olny left behind 7 novels, three or more which can be called masterpieces, and one of the best works of collected short fiction. he is going on the bus as soon as I get around to it. he also lived in the south of france. a real Pax Acidus person. His first novel Reloutionary Road, which i mentioned on the site over a year ago is my 2nd fav novel ever.

Rabbit looks very European in that pic. Sloth, to me, looks really relaxed, happy, and mellow.

No one can ever accuse the Pax Acidus community of not having variety in it's ranks. Both coasts of the US ... Europe represented ... and the great (and very large) state of Texas.

It's always somewhat amusing to me how I'm perceived by different groups of folks that I associate with. Considering where I live, I'm usually thought of as an arch liberal. Here, I think I've gained the rep as being somewhat to the right of the PA mainstream.

My brother ... the Baptist, conservative, southern, police officer that he is ... invited me to see my niece in her church play at Christmas time. Afterwards, he asked me if I felt a burning sensation as I entered his church. Would I start to feel like I'm about to spontaneously combust if I met all of y'all one day???? HA! Image

I've never heard of atheists spontaneously combusting in a church before.

Maybe your brother was referring to the burning sensations altar boys feel in their assholes after those annual church camp retreats.

OK ... first of all, you can't assume all churches are headed by pedophiles anymore than you can assume all southernors have confederate flags flying from their homes. Also ... just getting factual ... protestant churches don't usually have (none do to my knowledge) alterboys. That is left to the Catholics and their emulators.

Another point ... who ever said I was an atheist? I consider myself more of a Jeffersonian Deist.

Perhaps I'm wrong ... but the response I garnered for what I thought was a relatively harmless post seemed to have the heat directed at me, personally. Or was that simply directed at religion? I'm hope I'm just being paranoid.

sometimes the Sloth will overreact to make a point (which might be the only way to do it) but I'm sure he didn't mean it against you.
