Arizona and Cactii

Post by marky »

I recently saw this cooking program on T.V.
(though I never watch T.V.) that I found absolutely
hilarious. It looked to me like they were outside
in Arizona or somewhere similar. Anyway, for one thing, the guy who was the chef had absolutely
the trippiest LSD type shirt I've ever seen. Put every tie dye from the 60's to shame. It was like a regular hawaiian type shirt that someone had decided to splash a rainbow of color on the front. I mean literally every color imaginable was represented. Anyway, the point is, this dish they were preparing involved eating cactus. From what I could tell they were chopping it up and then put it in a blender with some tofu and lentils. While normally I might be prone to eating veggie type things like that, in this case I was rather disgusted.

My question is this: Do people REALLY eat Cactus out there? Is that like a normal thing? What on earth does it taste like? Is it anything like celery?

I just can't imagine eating cactus.

Oh I don't know. People fuck the cacti so might was well eat it as well, as appetizing foreplay. The Sloth will be here in 10 days so ask him when he gets back.

You ever listen to those CD’s I sent?

Last night I played footie with these Mexicans. Ever since The World Cup I was pretty down on Mexicans, not a good thing because I’m living on the boarder and in truth the U.S. is more bilingual than Canada is. But I was pissed off because they attacked Cobi Jones when the game was well lost and they let their frustrations come out in violence and very poor sportsmanship. And because we played a Mexican team soon after that and one of their players came up to me and kicked me in the bollocks from behind. A direct connection. And of course the ref didn’t see a thing. But last night was good clean fun and high skill level. It’s funny how you can easily get caught up in petty stereotypes and prejudices. Sometimes you have to fight against what you feel inside when you know it’s wrong. I’m going for a fish taco.

Yeah I listened to the CD's. Good fun. I particularly
liked the Johnny Cash cover of DM's Personal Jesus.
Normally I can't stand that song but he does something really nice for it. I read he has a new album out with other interesting covers like that.

The other CD was pleasant but kinda depressing. Normally when I picture you behind the decks I don't envision sadness on your face, so that was a switch.

Glad to hear you had a positive experience with the Mexicans after all.

Are you coming back to Seattle anytime soon?

what am I doing awake at 9am my time? sloth is here of course and I haven't been to bed yet. can't say the same for sloth. Martino wait to you see the new images we have going up! thank you.

on a sadder note i thought I'd put this in. The nation's unemployment rate unexpectedly shot up to 6.0 percent in November, the highest level since a peak almost nine years ago when the country was struggling to emerge from the last recession. The report, released Friday by the Labor Department, portrayed a bleak snapshot of the U.S. economy at a time when many analysts had thought that rock bottom days for job seekers were behind them. Analysts were expecting a slight increase from the 5.7 percent posted in October.

Thank God It's Friday!

and Hurt by Nine Inch Nails. This last album is Cash at his best. But this isn't a new thing for the Man In Black, back in the day (his day anyway late 50's early 60's) he did an album of Hank Williams and recently has been recording with Rick Rubin, this last album being the fourth in the series. Johnny Cash is the Pax Acidus soul godfather.
