Bon Voyage my loved ones!!!!

Post by mccutcheon »

I have lots of people I love traveling this summer. Here is a poem for all of them (and me) about people who never get out of small towns. Safe journeys!

Wet Feet
By McCutcheon

On a soggy afternoon
I walk through the park
I'm heading to the train station
Though I don't have a ticket to ride
I cut across the gravel path
And end up on the grass
My sneakers get soaked
By the drenched wet sod
As I walk my feet make noise
Sucking and squishing with every step
At the station I'm back on the concrete
My souls leave a faint wet impression
That will fade on the pavement
An express train rushes past
It doesn't stop at our small town

Nice one, McCutcheon

Once again, I've been out 'til all hours, and I'm posting a message to the old Pax Acidus after several cocktails. Tonight, however, I'm not drinking vodka, this evening's spirit is Rukka. God bless Duty-Free! (see earlier post about Russian hookers in Istanbul)

I liked Mc C's poem.

I found this one in my portfolio(thank you, Lisa). I wrote it ten years ago, during the first trip the Sloth and I ever took to Germany for beer-drinking purposes. This trip was when the Sloth first started smoking(sorry about that, Lar), and the night this poem was composed I was forced (due to drunken circumstances beyond my control) to sleep in a telephone booth (but that is beside the point)

Munich '91

What a sad, sad feeling to leave the East
End-of-journey eyes
watched onion domes slowly roll away
Vagabonds cry at close of day
that saw them golden
incensed with exotic new perfumes
and framed by a foreign sunlight
illuminating their escapades
and allowing them
graciously
to look upon their new-found friends
what's left but nightfall
and the hollow comforts of a train
rolling quickly
all too quickly away
from the newly adopted womb
and the cold shivering
of once again having to be born
in some new city
in some new country
Worse is the indecision and unsurety
Had every bottle been emptied?
Did a beautiful girl go unseduced?
Heaven forbid, did my eyes close
even for one precious second
leaving my mercurial, half-clad muse unseen
and my long sought after laurel
still unattained

Always romaing with a hungry heart
That longs to go on pilgrimages
Trains bear vagabonds away, never towards.

Good night Pax Acidus crew. I'm off to sodden sleep...

much love(and much Rukka),

Sentimental Kyle

I had a gorgeous girlfriend, who when she had a hangover, liked to say, “I'm not feeling too glorious today! Then I would get my tired ass out of bed and go buy her a Seven-Up in a can. It had to be a can. Well, today if we were still together I wouldn't be able to make it for the Seven-Up.

What was supposed to be a quite drink with the Sloth and I down the pub turned into a 12 bottles of wine feast in our backyard with my famous salmon, brie, mango and oysters flying everywhere. Three beauties stayed all night.

Tonight I have a soccer match, it's the last game of the season, and it's gonna be a piss up. I can never win. I'm lucky that way.

What this has to do with anything I don't know. I'm lucky that way.

Julia I know you are afraid to fly. I think of you....XO

Julia and Lina landed safe. I was outside the whole night willing that no planes would fall from the sky. I try to do my bit in this world.
