Traveling and Health

Post by TragicPixie »

I was wondering if you guys knew the answer to this (and if you have any idea where I could find out by... Thursday because that's when I leave).
If I get sick while in the UK, can I see a doctor? I'm not sure that my insurance will cover me but I'd need it right? If it doesn't I'm on my own aren't I? Cause that's gonna suck... I just spent the better part of my day around a friend with strep and I leave Thursday and I'm dreadfully afraid that by Friday I'll be feeling pretty shite.

Damn. Maybe I can see if my dr will prescribe me a round of antibiotics I can take just in case....

Anyway... the NHS doesn't cover poor American students on holiday does it. lol

The UK has universal health care.

If you get sick you can get treated for FREE.

Have fun.

Thanks... would anyone care to enlighten me as to what exactly I *do* if I am ill then? lmao

*wasn't ill last year but a friend was in Greece, and it sucked because a few antibiotics cost $350.
