Johnny Depp has to get on the bus!
Not only is he the best actor to never have won an Oscar, but he has got himself a life I envy. Plus he is cool.
American actor Johnny Depp likened his native country to a "dumb puppy that has big teeth" in an interview published Wednesday, ridiculing Washington's confrontation with France, where he lives, over the war in Iraq
The "Edward Scissorhands" and "Sleepy Hollow" star, who spends much of his time in the south of France with his companion, Vanessa Paradis, and their two small children, told the German magazine he couldn't see himself paying more than short visits to his Los Angeles residence in the present political climate.
"America is dumb, is something like a dumb puppy that has big teeth — that can bite and hurt you, aggressive," Depp was quoted as saying.
Depp recalled that French fries were renamed "Freedom" fries in the House cafeteria on Capitol Hill at the height of U.S. anger over France's refusal to back the administration of President George W. Bush over the war in Iraq.
"Nothing made me happier than when I read that — grown men and grown women in positions of power in the United States government," Depp said. "I was ecstatic because they revealed themselves as idiots."
Depp said he wanted his two children, ages 1 and 4, to experience the United States "like it's a kind a toy — a broken toy maybe. Investigate a little bit, check it out, get this feeling and then get out."
Myke there is no need to reply to this post. I already know what you think and I don't care.

They should make 21 Jump Street movie. Richard Greco was dreamy.

A broken toy?
How about a broken glass dildo shoved up the world's ass?

How could I not reply with a pseudo invitation to do so like that ... how sly of you ...
I'll make it short. I care about Johnny Depp's opinion of anything about as much as you regal in my every word. How can you even take such a statement seriously from someone who hates the place and makes his money off of it at the same time? You can hate the gov't without branding the whole nation as crap. That goes for here ... France ... Zimbabwe ... wherever.
There. Oh (no pun intended) ... one final thing ... I never have a problem with someone disliking where they live. I figure ... go where you think you'll be happy. But you two just whine all the time about the nasty old USA and the injustices of the world without doing anything about it. Seriously?? What's up with that? You go on and on and on and on and do nothing substantive to move to your lovely land of France. I doubt customs would stop you at the gate and say you can't leave the country. They might even give you a discount on the plane fare!
Gotta go ... the Tv's on in the other room and I hear a re-run of Nightrider coming on. Must change the channel.

In the 1940's Sweden made all their money off the Nazis. I'm sure they still thought they were crazy.
I make all my money off customer's I hate. Okay I don't really hate they but I think they are puppy dogs with big teeth.
You make all your money from the government of the USA, which committed genocide on the native population of 20 million, enslaved people from Africa, developed and tested nuclear weapons on a live population of "japs" inclduing woman and children, and prizes cheap oil above its own children's lives.
I don't know where I'm going with this at 6:20 AM so I will give it a rest.

This has got to mean something. Even to the arrogant xenophobes.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - After the Iraq war, support for U.S. global leadership has faded badly in European nations, most dramatically in Germany and France which strenuously opposed the war, according to a survey released Thursday.
President Bush's standing has just about evaporated in Germany where his approval rating is 16 percent — down from 36 percent in 2002 — and where public opinion increasingly questions American leadership, said the Trans-Atlantic Trends 2003 survey.
"The Germany that never sought to choose between Europe and the United States has now expressed an unambiguous preference for Europe," it said.
The war has made the trans-Atlantic disconnect so significant that large chunks of public opinion in France (70 percent), Germany and Italy (both 50 percent), Portugal (44 percent) now see U.S leadership as undesirable, the poll showed.

Yes, McCutcheon ... you're perception astounds me every time. Of course, it's not very difficult to perceive the type of rote, unoriginal opinion you'll espouse on global issues either so I guess neither one of us can look forward to the Pulitzer prize for our esteemed essays on international affairs.
Xenophobe is routinely defined as someone who is "... contemptuous of that which is foreign, especially of strangers or foreign peoples ...". Arrogant I may be, but a Xenophobe I am not. Bush/Chaney/Rumsfeld are all Xenophobic I'm sure, but not I.
Somehow I doubt ... whatever the case ... that Bush cares about his poll ratings in Berlin, Paris, Rome, or Lisbon. He's worried about being a one termer like his dad.
Like I said, anyone should feel free to live anywhere they want. Personally, I want a house on a small secluded barrier island off the lovely Carolina coast in Charleston County. Nice and unspoiled and I'd keep it that way.
Thing is ... politics change. Leaders change. Parties gain and lose power. It's all fluid. People will tire of the current administration. Relations will improve with Europe. It'll stay that way for a while then it'll all go sour for a while. It's simply the way of the world.
However ... in the mean time ... if you really hate whatever that badly whether it be Bush or the whole USA, just please damn well do something about it instead of whining all the time and envying Johnny Depp and Jack White. At least make an effort. No one is forcing anyone to live any where or do any particular job. Change if you want to! Perhaps if you saved all your pot/e/booze bucks, you could afford a chateu in the south of la France'!!!!!
Have a nice day.

George Bush's performances have all been lackluster, and that's putting it lightly. Depp's performance in Fear and Loathing is remarkable, and that's putting it lightly. However they are both just piss stains on the urinal of life.
Johnny Depp has to get on the bus!
It's just too bad that the one in charge of the country is a babbling, murderous twit, and the other is a very talented expatriate actor. I feel the scourge of politics festering up in me, ready to boil over like these sores on my ass. Was that my outside voice?
Johnny Depp has to get on the bus!
Jack, it's great to have you back, as always. But don't stop there...what is an "outside voice"?
Sloth & McC made me laugh in this thread...
"I don't know where I'm going with this at 6:20 am..." LOL!
"Myke, I knew you'd say something like that." LOL!
Anyway I'm glad you clarified the whole Johnny Depp thing cause I caught a bit of it on T.V. (you see the bits of T.V. I catch are always because my roomate has the T.V. on) and the sound was turned down and I couldn't figure out what it was all about, so now I know.
Anyway I've got a question for Tommy but I'm gonna see if I can put it under a more appropriate thread somehow...
