House of Reps bucks Bush - TWICE!
What has gotten into the House Of Reps? This Republican controlled body of Congress, normally nothing more than a business-as-usual rubber stamp for any little thing Bush wants, has bucked Bush and the Republican leaders twice in the last two days. First, they voted to block the corporate-handout-free-speech-endangering FCC ruling on companies owning television stations. Then they voted to allow the import of prescription drugs into Canada!!! I don't know about you guys but my jaw has hit the floor in disbelief. Bush is threatening vetos on these issues of course, but man, I say let's be happy with some small unexpected victories. Gee...maybe some Republicans really aren't all that bad if their constituencies act up enough...
