That was the best long lunch I've had, and believe me, I've taken my share of long lunches when I'm supposed to be working.

As anticipated, I enjoyed meeting new Paxacidians and the excuse to get together with ones I already knew. Why don't more of you come to Seattle so I can slack off at work?

while you were having a long lunch i was having a long bachelorette party with julia. we started at the pagoda with shots of jagermeister ending up sloppy all over seattle. on top of a cab , sitting in the meat bin at the market, the wild rose where we got our dyke on. good clean fun. h. i wish you could have made it. the pictures are good. maybe sloth will post them.the wedding will be fun. she got the old cat at sorry charlies to play music.

Kim and I had an excellent time. It's great to meet so many interesting people. I'm usually a kind of loner so this whole thing is very out of character for me. Mc has saucyhair, Tony is full of great stories, Mark makes me giggle, Amanda is beautiful, Mav and Goose (figured that would be a good nickname for your co-pilot) are wonderful people. We really look forward to meeting the rest of the crew on our next foray into the land of the Copper Pig.

Goose is a good a name as any, as long as we don't get caught in a MIG's jetwash. I once referred to her on here as "Charlie", since she is a civilian therefore you do not salute her. I'll stop now, so that you all will retain at least a shred of respect for me, and if I keep quoting Top GUn, I might get kicked out of PA...

This is for Brett (and any other impending parents) I see you have already made several expensive baby purchases. When deciding on quality and quantity of these things you have to contemplate how many kids you are planning to have. Baby items can take a beating. If you're going to be re-using them then quality is the priority. There are some great modern designs out there that can make simple but highly repetitive chores easier.

One place you do not want to save money is on the car seat. When you graduate to the forward facing seat buy the Britax. It costs more, but european safety standards on these things are higher than US (not sure about Canada) Staying with cars I would shy away from the SUV if you are thinking of baby friendly transport. I used to have a pathfinder (until it was stolen) I now drag the offspring around in a Volvo station wagon. It is ok but bending down in and out both sides to load kids in when it is raining is a drag. Sadly from an aesthetic viewpoint there is only one vehicle that cuts it for hauling kids around and that is the dreaded minivan. As awful as they are for self image they can't be beat for the ease of loading kids in and out. (Which you will be doing for at least four years.) It is also a handy tool for reminding you that it's all over. You are a parent now. There is no escape.

If you haven't bought a high chair get the chicco mama. Cool Italian design and easy to wash and adjust. Backpack, get the kelty. The outdoor one not the urban hybrid. I am typing this while feeding a munchkin and fending off another, so must end now. I'll check in to see if I can be of further use.

Thanks Tommy. I actually like Mini Vans, my wife thinks it's impossible to look sexy while driving one. It looks like we're getting the Explorer for her and I'm going to get an old CJ. We're going to get the car seat this weekend, another wild time at our household. Two big engined auto's for us, Mark is gonna have an aneurysm.

Hey Tommy glad you finally joined the party! Brett tell Kim she'd look sexy driving a Toyota Tercell. And for all you married couples with babies and stuff who can't get out much anymore- rent the movie Sex and Lucia, it's Spanish and it's hot. One of the sexiest films I've ever seen. Also based around a writer in a sense which I always love. I watched it with Mav, which was a bit of a draw back, but as soon as it was over I road my bike as fast as I could to find Amanda.

It would be foolish of me to think I could control your auto buying habits, Brett. Ha ha...I'm not so deluded to think that.
