I have a good friend, Natalie Brenton; (her pictures are up on the site) who lives in Saudi with her husband Mike. They are Canadian, from Vancouver. Natalie is a very cool girl, and when I write about women I usually steal things that she has told me in the past. Mike loves his Guinness, something hard to come by the last six years they have been living there. Natalie is 8 months pregnant with their first child. They are living in the Seder Village compound. If any of you web surfers gets any info on the latest bombings could you please pass on the info here. Thanks.

There is no real info yet. They say 29 people died including 9 Americans. Hopefully your friends are alright, the blasts were not in the Sedar compound and there have been no reports of Canadians killed.

My friends are fine. Email from Natalie:

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for the concerned phone calls and emails. We are fine - it was not our compound that was hit, but of course we are very shocked and worried for those who were. I will email you all separately when I get a chance but the internet is very slow at the moment and phone lines are quite bad. We are still sorting fact from rumour and you probably know about as much as we do at this point. (For you ex-Riyadh folk, it was Jedawel, Cordoba & Al Hamra Compounds that were hit and a military office building - but even this is still up for debate, as is the number of fatalities and injuries.) And to those who asked, baby-to-be is oblivious and kicking away happily - I kind of wish I was in a womb myself!

Take care,
love,
Natalie

p.s. We'd appreciate it if you 'joke' and 'forward' senders held off for a while as our inboxes are a little clogged and it takes ages to open stuff at the moment.
