Senator Lott and Strom Thurmond

Post by marky »

Well I'm happy to report I was given gift certificates to a group of big theaters so I shall hopefully be able to see LOTR nearly free, assuming its playing at one of the ones on the tickets.

Anyway the point is, since we're talking about Lott,
I had originally wanted to say
"Nah nah nah nah nah you finally stepped doo-wn
nah nah nah nah nah"
Thanks very much ladies and gentlemen
and while we're on the subject, Ooh I seem to recall you had that song way back when that went "I like tits a lot" by whatever that band's name was. Get it? Tits a Lott.

And thirdly, you know the guy they're going to replace him with...is real iffy. A surgeon who mentions health care, but also supposed to be totally in the back pocket of (really? he's the President?) Bush. Hmmm.

What you guys think of a Senator who publicly states that the USA should have been ruled by apartheid people like South Africa?

Is that fucking unbelievable or what?

And he is the head of the fucking Republican party... the ones who started the Civil War to end slavery some 150 odd years ago.

Unbelievable!

Once again I am ashamed to be an American!

Not even the blow jobs are helping.

yeah, he stepped down. too bad we don't cut off his head like the French. Woo Hoo Revolution. Well went and say LOTR and I came away loving the film and cursing Americans. if it would have been a theartre in paris there would have been no kids talking the whole way through it, people checking their voice messages, people eating, the slob behind me ate the whole movie, three fucking hours and kept hitting the back of my chair when he bent down to pick up is king sieze drink. plus people kept getting up and I hear mutters of 'is it over yet?'

It's embarrassing to be part of the state that elected Thurmond over and over. Of course, we all know he's been dead for the last 30 years. Did anyone see the tape of the dinner Lott was at? Hell, I've seen roadkill that looked more alive than Strom.

LOTR 2 Towers was phenomenal. Luckily I saw it while the kiddies were in school and had a great showing with little gluttony to complain about from other patrons.

white people are so scared of black people
they bulldoze out to the country
and put up houses on little loop-dee-loop streets
and while america gets its heart cut right out of its chest
the berlin wall still runs down main street
separating east side from west
and nothing is stirring, not even a mouse
in the boarded-up stores and the broken-down houses
so they hang colorful banners off all the street lamps
just to prove they got no manners
no mercy and no sense

and i'm wondering what it will take
for my city to rise
first we admit our mistakes
then we open our eyes
the ghosts of old buildings are haunting parking lots
in the city of good neighbors that history forgot

i remember the first time i saw someone
lying on the cold street
i thought: i can't just walk past here
this can't just be true
but i learned by example
to just keep moving my feet
it's amazing the things that we all learn to do

so we're led by denial like lambs to the slaughter
serving empires of style and carbonated sugar water
and the old farm road's a four-lane that leads to the mall
and our dreams are all guillotines waiting to fall

i'm wondering what it will take
for my country to rise
first we admit our mistakes
and then we open our eyes
or nature succumbs to one last dumb decision
and america the beautiful
is just one big subdivision

....it just seems relevant
