The Stranger

Post by h. »

So... on my way into the local QFC I stop at a paper box to grab this weeks edition of The Stranger. I glance at it as I'm about to fold it in half and tuck it under my arm when something catches my eye:

Centered directly beneath the words "The Stranger" it says www.paxacidus.com
Has that been there for a while and I'm an idiot who didn't notice? Did someone pay to put that there? Or is Ooh turning hacker and tagging the paper???

I want to know...

No you're not an idiot, either, h. I've got last week's Stranger right in front of me and it's not on there, some other website is. Curious, the last time I looked underneath the Stranger moniker they used to put weird sayings underneath there. Guess that was a long time ago?

Can someone send me a copy. I used to email them all the time to give us an inch of print. Yeah! I love Kathleen Wilson, Dan Savage, Last Days and all the other boys and girls. I never said a bad word, honest. Like how can I be published in Paris and in my own back yard no one cares. Oh I get it. I had to leave Seattle, move to the fucking desert before it happened. Which means I'll proabbaly have to die before the book comes out. great. the things I do.

Rosie keep partying like a rock star!

Can you see the flood damage. People told me the whole city was ruined. Is it true?

McC, take heart, remember Nick Drake wrote
"Fruit Tree" before he ever plausibly had any idea
that he would indeed be famous after his death.
If you haven't read the biography of him I can't
recommend it highly enough. I can't remember the
name or author right now but there's only one anyway.

I'm actually thinking of sending you one more CD,
I hope you won't hold it against me. I promise to
quit for awhile if you let me. Image

Sloth yer kidding. You come to Seattle and have nothing to do with this?

I love the Stranger too. Infact one of my main beefs with Vancouver was the conservative nature their weekly paper there compared with ours. And this issue is a really good one too. They have this
feature on "scary" parts of Seattle and David Schmader of Last Days does some bits I found absolutely hilarious. Ever wondered about that coke machine on John street? Wonder no more. I'll send you a copy McC if you let me send you one more CD.

yeah, there is alot of damage. many crews working to put the sidewalks back together. the water was 15 meters high and the photography exhibits of the flood are beautiful and very sad.
these people have endured so much . i think this is my favorite city so far.
part of the train was taken out. they had a crane on the charles bridge to keep any obstructions out of the way. i am staying in a place that was flooded. thank god it stopped raining yesterday.
tonight is my favorite bach piece played on the steps of the national museum.
