This mainly goes out to Mc or Sloth. I am taking a serious interest in becoming a dj. I have no experience and don't know a whole lot about how to get started, all i know is i love the music. I want to badly start creating my own beats and mixes and just aren't exactly sure where to begin. If you could give me some advice and a bit of direction on which pieces of equipment i should get first and what not that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks fellas Image

This won't help but here it goes. First you got to love music more than your mother. second start slow. I was such a geek as a kid that I would make tapes for girls all day long on a little tape deck and would sometimes even tape the radio and a record playing at the same time for a mix. And you have to be someone who thinks a track sounds better if you play it. I know, I know- shit ass, but that’s because you are basically using someone else’s creation and fucking with it. I break all the rules. Lots of times I fall in love with records so much that I will play them almost through untouched. I don’t really make mixes to dance to. I make mixes for taking your clothes off in front of other people. Being off your tree and having headphones on is another good way to listen to them. As for equipment- Go with a little mixer with two inputs- left and right channel. They are actually pretty cheap. I’d have to say stick with the T’s though for the turntables. Look in the paper for used stuff, and scrounge the pawnshops. . With a shit economy and everyone on heroin people might be hacking their stuff. You should ask Mark. He is a great DJ.
