Who loves listenig to the rain?

I wrote a poem once about standing outside in thunderstorms. Ill try to find it...

Lets talk about rain

one of my favorite memories ever:

I was in my late teens visiting Russia and staying with a family in Novgorod. Their grandfather had been in the KGB so they had a pretty nice place by Soviet standards. We had all been out playing (European) football and were tired so we went to nap. It started to rain and I could hear the drops hitting the window. Anton (the kid I was staying with) had his mother play Motzart for us as we were falling asleep.

Motzart and rain in a KGB bed.

best nap Ive ever had in my life.

i enjy the rain also. rain reminds me of farming as a young girl in a our wheat fields in colorado.
big thunder and lightening and dirt and mud running down my face. soggy sandwiches, patsy cline and still having to drive a colmbine while my grandfather plowed the next field.
if i got it stuck i could tell he would be upset with me. this was his job he only got paid once a year for and only if the wheat was not to damp and not to dry.
grasshoppers would jump on you and stick to your legs and the sky was as vast as the ocean.
it would rain and then a big sun would come 40 min later with a huge rainbow and the smell was a dirty gasoline breezy one.

i love the smell of rain in august when it 's heavy with ozone and reminds me of my childhood

i love rain in tokyo in the monsoon season. it makes everything so wet and musty you can't see through glasses

i love the grey drizzle of paris in the winter. you kiss your girl and get wet hair and she smells good and you like it

i love the rain coming from high high clouds in zeeland, netherlands and the belgian coast. the rain smells of the ocean and the sun kinda shines through and makes me wish i could paint

i love the rain when kids jump into puddles

i love the rain when it washes down the dog shit

i love running through the rain: first i curse it and then, after about twenty minutes, it combines with my sweat and becomes a part of me

i love sitting in a street bar in roseau dominica, getting refreshed with a kubuli beer from the inside and the rain from the outside

i love how rain drops magnify the freckles on my daughters face

Are you really Swiss Martino?

I must admit I have never met any Swiss people that I can remember. And I even went to Zurich once. I probably met some when I was drunk once though. And I guess I have met you so there I go.

My fucking roommate always makes me turn down my stereo. I hate her. How am I supposed to live with headphones on all the time? Can you send the Swiss mafia to London to kill her? Then maybe I could enjoy the rain outside while Mercury Rev plays on the stereo.

no ooh, i'm german, just on assignment in zurich for the time being

i used to say that 'swiss' is a euphemism for the term geriatric but i have actually become quite fond of them as time went by. so there you go

no contacts to the swiss mafia at the present time. i can try organising a hit man from the yakuza next time you are in tokyo but that doesn't seem like a viable solution right now, wouldn't you say? perhaps you should try the greek-serbian organisation, i think the london chapter should be willing to negotiate

i used to have a friend who live in Sion? french side. spelling. FC Sion won the Swiss league. And every summer i would go up this mountain for a music fest. there was a town and school up there. it doesn't happen anymore. we used to get sloshed and I ended up at this girls house on the French boarder and we were having great sex and champagne when her parents returned from Italy. we were in their bed, and her dad drove me to the train station. it's a weird drive when a girls father walks in and his daughter is totaly naked with her tongue up my ass and an hour later it's just papa and me in the Mercedes driving to the train station. I think it's the reason i never became a parent. I think the girl was 16, but of course looked older. I was around twenty. I think I like the Swiss.

fuckinell. what an evocative anecdote. mc, it deserves, no it actually shouts to be made into a short story.

"why i like the swiss (and why i don't plan to have kids)" or something like that

Who loves the rain
who cares that it makes flowers
Who cares that it makes showers
since you broke my heart
Who Loves the Sun....v.u.

I was sitting a car with a girl trying to kiss her, but she was not having that. Then the rain came and suddenly I was romantic. We steamed the windows.

In the Midwest, we could have rain any day of the year. When I was in Yelapa during May, someone looked at his arm and then looked up at the sky. "I felt a rain drop," he said. A bamboo saxophonist from Chile laughed at the guy like he had said the sky was falling. He laughed the way I would laugh, if someone had said snow was falling through Missouri’s August skies.
