Just read about it, and thought of you boys. Were you guys singing "Shook me all night long" by AC/DC?

Really though, any damage?

felt like I was on the bridge of the Enterprise with Kirk and Spock taking a hit from the Kligons, except I wasn't able to fall into the lovely Uhura, or however you spell her name.

It's weird that the one thing I always worried about in Seattle (besides dying from boredom) was earthquakes. Now it happened and its like, okay, no big deal. More people got hurt in the riots for Mardi Gras than from the earthquake.

Just in case you guys thought I was joking...

The Seattle Mardi Gras riots left one young man dead; 71 injured, one of them near death; and 21 in jail. A 20-year-old Kent man beaten during the melee suffered brain injuries. He died about 7:20 p.m. yesterday at Harborview Medical Center.

yeah, that was pretty ridiculous, mardi gras. whenever i see footage of mardi gras celebrations in new orleans or rio or whatever, they all seem pretty fun and jovial. here they all just looked aggro and dumbass.

i didn't realize the earthquake was even such a big one until i heard it over news wires. at my work, we just got under the table, it was mayhem, after it was over we got back up and laughed and fucked around, and after about five minutes everyone was working again.

Hey, riots at Marti Gras.... reminds me of my trip to Lollapallooza '93 in New Orleans at UNO. I had been up on speed for three days prior to the event, then I dropped 3 hits of blotter and got out in the 105 degree heat for the show. NOT A GOOD IDEA. I lost my fucking mind, and wound up getting the ever-livin' shit beat out of me by six New Orleans cops because I went stark-raving, blither-blathering mad. Arrested, kicked out of the show, lost my friends, had no fucking idea where I was.... it was a Kodak moment. I wrote about what happened... remind me to send you boys the T-file sometime.

Anyway, have fun!

Mardi gras? sorry to hear one went bad. last night was the 20th Sydney Gay and Lasbian MardiGras, 1,000,000 souls were there, no arrests, no bigotry, no hate. Just 15,000 or so homosexual men and women proudly asserting their right to choose thier own adventure by walking down a city street off their genitals on extacy. It kinda even fills me, a straight, mostly celibate guy, with a sense of hope that the whole world hasn't totaly disapeared down the toilet just yet.
shame about the earthquake. poo occours.
