top five western films

Post by Jack Chiefton »

My top five western films- I haven't seen silverado though

1 Clint Eastwood's unforgiven-hands down-very realistic and honest
2 Sam Peckinpah's Pat Garret and Billy the Kid- features an acoustic soundtrack by Bob Dylan-closest movie of truth on the life of those two men-Kris Kristofferson as Billy, James Coburn as Pat
3 Sergio Leone's Good, Bad, Ugly-great Ennio Moriconne soundtrack, also love the camera angles and shots-close up of eyeballs and gun holsters is great
4 Tombstone, although the accuracy of the events were poorly researched-good movie though
5 The Cowboys, just because I thought John Wayne should be on the list, considering he did dozens and dozens of westerns

mccutcheon-

I see you put Sam Peckinpah on the bus. I'm sure you didn't do that to spite me, so I'll accept it as a great coincidence. By the way, did you see PG and BTK?? Good movie, as far as westerns go.

Jack-- people are writing back to you, and I even think Ryan is your biggest fan! You still there Jack? I liked High Noon. Grace Kelly was so fine.
