My top five western films- I haven't seen silverado though
Clint Eastwood's unforgiven-hands down-very realistic and honest
Sam Peckinpah's Pat Garret and Billy the Kid- features an acoustic soundtrack by Bob Dylan-closest movie of truth on the life of those two men-Kris Kristofferson as Billy, James Coburn as Pat
Sergio Leone's Good, Bad, Ugly-great Ennio Moriconne soundtrack, also love the camera angles and shots-close up of eyeballs and gun holsters is great
Tombstone, although the accuracy of the events were poorly researched-good movie though
The Cowboys, just because I thought John Wayne should be on the list, considering he did dozens and dozens of westerns
