So they hanged Saddam

Post by marky »

I'm still in a total state of disbelief over this. I had no idea it would happen so soon.

I just can't see how it's going to be a good thing. People wanted revenge, and got it, but I just think it's too messy. We can't afford to appear as though we were the ones who did it. We can't appear to be taking sides. The violence will increase. Nothing good can come of it.

aw... that makes me sad. I don't think he was a wonderful person but still... you can't kill for peace.

These things always surpise me. I kind of expected it to drag on for years. I didn't think they would really hang the guy. What is this, the 18th century?

I think the violence in Iraq is appalling. Over 100 civilian deaths per day over the past 3 months.

Questions I would like answered:

When is Bush's trial?

When do you think he will stop trying to control Iraq and let them work out their own problems?

The answer to your questions:

Never - we need some other country to liberate us.

No, of course not, that would be admiting defeat or wrongness.

Le sigh...

I played David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust at full volume this evening. Just after the firecracker noises in my neighborhood about the new year. I think this should be like a good thing to notch up in my book, so Jesus ought to have mercy on me because I played David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust album at full volume, etc.

Now I am playing the Stranglers.

My podcast went wrong. This is all the result of the fact that even though I worked very hard on it, my podcast started to fall apart and I don't know why. I worked on that shit for hours and then it all fell apart. I give up. For now. Give it time.

Because when I try to play it, after the 30 min. mark, it all breaks up into audio hell, it skips and shit. I don't know if it just needs more time to save itself or what. My podcast failed. I'm sad about it, but I'm playing other music right now so I don't care too much. But what went wrong?

Sloth, please help. Why does my podcast start to skip after the 30 minute mark?

Hahah. Oh, yeah. You're right.

No, I think it's because my computer doesn't have enough RAM to handle it. Everything starts getting really slow like it's just being taxed to the limit. I don't know what to do.

It's probably not a RAM issue.

Where is the podcast located?

Where can I get a copy?

Thanks,

Well thanks for asking as I am so dead sick of working on this damn thing. Finally I'm finished. I made it for the British ex-pat group here in Seattle, but I'm going to post about it now on the Marky's music thread, so I invite you to go there.

I will now answer my own question:

Hanged or Hung?

Hanged means "executed by hanging." Some authorities accept hung.

Hung means "suspended" otherwise.

Both are past tenses or past participles of the verb to hang, but each applies to specific cases.

Examples: The five plotters in the Lincoln assassination were hanged.
We hung the towels out on the clothesline to dry.

I should have just googled that before I posted.

This stuff is working.
