I changed my major

Post by TragicPixie »

Okay so this isn't news ... but I changed my major. More accurately: I am considering (because I haven't done the paperwork yet) to drop my English major.
It's not that I don't do well, or even enjoy it. However the department here is AWFUL. I cannot tell what courses will meet what requirments and what courses are just there to entice people of other majors to fill their X-level lit. requirements. Furthermore, absolutely no one in the department seems to know what counts either.

So ... I am thinking of dropping it and just graduating with a women's studies degree... which will put me graduating next May. (This is not because I am an over achiever - this is because the department that handles this degree isn't full of bullshit and is fairly organized. One can easily tell what counts and what does not and what's left to take. I'm halfway finished - except I haven't begun to consider what to do for my capstone project really.)

Or ... I could possibly switch my major effectively to something like poli sci but ... I'm not sure.

At some point I need to eat .... and I realise with either major I will have to sometime go to grad school or law school ...
Lie to me, it takes less time to drink you pretty.

Yeah, at some point you need to eat, that's right. I like blueberry/blackberry pie, myself. I add whipped cream and pecan chips.

You are right you should change your major. I can't deal with unorganized crap either in fact I am tired of dealing with it at work where we've just had a rather dramatic mass exodus of key, long term folks who were either fired or left voluntarily. No one is in charge who knows what they are doing, it is nerve wracking, and it's been going on for months. Just bumbling around stupidly in the vacuum of leadership. ARgh.

Anyway, English isn't exactly the best thing to major in either, regardless of your interest in it.
