the rain has officially turned into snow. and i love it, and i'm job hunting.
this is just fascinating to me. i don't know how many folks have looked into your profession in other countries. but it does put things into perspective. in the us in a fairly "poor" public school a certified / qualified teacher makes about 1,500 a month. that's an average. this is the job listing i'm looking at right now:
TEFL certified, native speaker needed to teach eighth graders in Quevedo, Ecuador. Mid-November start. $400/month plus safe, modern apartment provided. $500/month after six months. Female preferred, Spanish speaking a plus but not required
