What I wanna know is was the frontal lobotomy responsible for the walrus moustache and do other people with them also have frontal lobotomies?

This sort of thing is beyond sad. I had a client at the house I worked at for mentally ill folks and he was one of my favourites, really nice guy, very jovial, kindof child-like and funny...anyway he continues to have post-traumatic stress disorder because of things he remembers from being in an awful mental hospital back in the 60's or 70's, whenever it was. This means that every now and again he starts actually thinking that it's all happening over again in the present moment, much the way war veterans have. When this happens he starts doing a lot of cleaning or yard work and staying awake for long periods and talking nonstop. He said he cleans because in the hospital is was like a privelege to do chores. Everything I have read leads me to believe the horrors of mental hospitals back then was pretty widespread. Having a poor understanding of the illness is one thing but you know, in a lot of cases it should have been obvious that this was no way to treat human beings and he remembers beatings and being injected with vast quantities of drugs etc. I read an article once that said that mental patients weren't even given proper burials, just a rock with their # engraved in it, so there was no way to know the identity of the person. I guess this saved the family from shame.
