Sony Throws Baby out With the Bathwater

Yes, I have been downloading more albums over the past few years than buying them. When I read articles telling me not to do this my feeling is generally fuck the recording companies and the fucking fuckers who protect them. I don't need them. You don't need them. Only the diamond mines in South Africa need them. Slavery was made illegal and so should record labels as well. All they do is enslave artists and promote crap.
I admit my feelings are controversial... for without record labels there would be no new boy bands, pop divas, etc. But alas, now I am proven right by the press release that Sony is actually putting "root kits" on the their audio CDs to prevent people from copying their discs. This is the digital equivalent of putting a portable nuclear device in your car to deter someone from stealing it. Yeah, it may prevent someone from stealing your car but it could also take out a metropolitain area as well.
Basically from this point onwards you should never put any CD from Sony Music or any other nontrusted source in your computer because its probably infected with this software that compromises your entire computer's security.
Okay I need another beer. For those who need more proof go to:
