Unless there's a different Matt Pape other than the one we know, he is indeed in the emergency room at Bellevue in NYC. They haven't admitted him yet. No further information that I could get.
if he get's admitted, the number would be: 212-562-4353
I'll try to found out more.
update: he got released this morning. he's likely at home getting some rest. i hope

Update:
Matt called a bit ago. He's at home and feels really bad but sounded clear and sober. They sent him home and told him to drink lots of water/gatoraid and stay in bed. Badly dehydrated but otherwise alright.
He wanted me to let you know he's all ok and he said he realizes that he has a lot of people here who care about him and that's one big thing he's got going for him.
That's all I know.

I was drinking way too much like an asshole and got a stomach virus on top of it, like food poisioning, and got dangerously dehydrated. Now I have to sort out my life and maybe give up writing Tour because I was doing it like a method actor, I was playing the part. But I want my health.
Bellevue. Man what a story that was. I first ended up in the psych ward because I had a panic attack and I thought my stomach was exploding. Anyway I'll write about all that when I recover.
Thanks again to everyone.

Good to hear from you McC!! I feel a bit bad about my frivolousness last night but the fact is I just wasn't so sure Sloth wasn't trying to play a joke or something about you being in hospital. Please take care of yourself.
you didn't deserve death either, buster

Learn from it, ! Learn you want to be healthy. Learn that there are many people all over this world who love you. Learn that being a good artist doesn't mean you have to live in so much pain. Learn that life is great even without chemical enhancement. Learn that you have the strength inside you to live well.
That's my Thanksgiving wish for McCutcheon.

sometimes.
MC,
whenever you get around to reading this -- I figured out the two songs I mentioned on some other thread. It's day after day and so alive. What do you think? Am I right or am I wrong about that guitar?
So I have this sweat shirt, ripped collar a la flashdance and it says "Rock and Roll Will Save Your Soul" -- (and it was made in the USA, no sweat shop) and I'm wearing to Thanksgiving dinner in Podunk.
I'm SOOOOOO glad you're okay!! It just makes life nicer knowing some one is in it. That some one would be you in this case.

Tour might be your best work. Can't you finish it without drinking yourself to death?

Maybe in the end he can go to AA meetings, lose 50 pounds, become a born again Christian, eat macrobiotics, join a boy band, and date Mandy Moore.
Who was it that said

Mandy Moore wouldn't be too bad maybe. And I might get my looks back. I guess I will have to go to AA meetings but I can't stand that ‘higher being' crap. I will try to finish Tour. That novel was killing me, and not softly. I was giving it all I had. I was going to make Brady an unrepentant alcoholic. Maybe I shouldn't say this on Thanksgiving but I hate the puritan American attitude of the happy ending and good message. That is why in Burnt the couple doesn't end up together even though I think it is a love story. Oh shit I have to go throw up again. I'll type later.
