haha I can never figure out how to make international calls either. I can never get my phone card to work when I'm aboard... though I blame it on the card to my parents, it's just me because I can't figure out how to make it work.

I got some new Beaujolais today! I haven't tried it yet I'm saving it but they had all these different brands of it I've never tried before I didn't know what to do I wanted them all. I held out hoping I'd find one from my favourite brand but alas, I didn't so I sprung for two bottles from brands I've never tried before. I actually saw an ad in the paper from my favourite brand it was kindof exciting. Louis Jadot. Surely there must be a Nouveau Beaujolais from Louis Jadot somewhere in the world?

Here's a Nick Drake site:

By the way, when I trudge through my homework it's like sludge. I hate intermediate accounting. BLECH. I don't even like the way the textbook is designed, the fonts the colors. It's like parchment, so fragile. Even the teacher admits it's a crappy class. Okay I'm glad I got that out of my system. It's crap people don't forget it - intermediate accounting is CRAP!

Is anybody doing anything fun for the Holiday?

Let's do something fun for Matt.

What can we do?

If it makes any difference, I will try really hard to figure out some way to make it to the pax convention where ever it is held.

Now, as I am a girl, well female, I think it should have a theme -- other than pax acidus, or maybe it should be pax acidus -- what does it mean to you?

I am very good at planning silly parties; my friends and I have them all the time -- or at least we used to, no one has been in the mood lately. I think it's chronic. Tragic are you good at planning parties?

And now I am going out to have drinks with my best guy girl friend -- whose sexual preferences are totally unknown to me and we've been friends since college

Tragic find one of these guys and make yourself completely necessary to him -- he is always my life saver -- and usually I make him laugh by doing something retarded -- it's a great relationship

Before I even read anything on PA yesterday whlie I was wandering around the mall I almost bought MC a cute get well card. This was before I remembered, I don't know where to send it.

aww lol may do that - but he'll probably get a Christmas card now. I'd say I'll mail it Friday (which I may since I'm obligated to go shopping with my mother) but at the moment - it seems the entire state of missouri is covered in ice and snow.

That's nice of you, Pixie ;)

Sara - you raise an interesting question in my mind - do we want those old embarassing kinds of party favors at this paxacidus convention? Like triangular hats and those curled things you blow into and noisemakers? What about those little umbrellas that go in sugary drinks?

What's the opinion on these?

Silly hats yep, they are a must -- we've done the Oscars -- where we had trivia games made by my brother-- he's so incredibly smart -- -- I was Amelie, he was Vincent from pulp fiction, my best guy girl friend was Mammy from Gone with the Wind jeez, it's sickening, then we've had wiffle ball -- we've had disco nite -- ball included -- we did dead rock stars -- I was Patsy Cline, nobody argued. We did pay your starving artist -- friends' photos and music -- we did drive in night -- when you live in a small town you have a lot of time on your hands -- obviously. So pick your poison -- I have lots of noise makers.

Swizzle sticks, is that what they are called? Or just the umbrellas, Mark? And good bad drinks -- what's the best? A midori sour (I have no clue how to spell it, but yummy for my tummy on the melon mix)

Tragic, yippee for the boys, let's hear it for them. Myke, yippee too!! Are you coming or what?

we should have a literature theme - everyone should dress as their favourite authour ... or whichever of their favourite authours they would have the most fun dressing up as...
and we could do trivia games or reading or some such shit

(yeah, I get into that whole theme-party planning thing too)

... and we must have cute little stuff! Remember when we were little and parties came with little favour bags? We should made some...

Ok, I'll stop now. I need another glass of wine ... I can't take my family.

if it is a pax acidus convention, who needs a theme anyway? what matters is the people, the conversation, and the alcohol.

Wow, Sara, you've done a lot more stuff with party themes than I have for sure! I'm glad there's still things like booze and conversation otherwise I'd be afraid you'd be bored!

I just mentioned the party favors cause I haven't seen those things in a long, long time and suddenly the idea of them occured to me and it seemed kindof funny.

Tragic, i think i love you -- literary theme, that was my first halloween back home -- you want to guess who I was -- I won't make you -- Ernest Hemmingway -- the costume was hot as hell and really not worth it, one of my girlfriends was Ophelia, flowers in her hair -- so who would you be?

My friends and family are crazy -- I do think you have to be to come home and stay.

Borgy -- I completely agree, good booze (or bad really I'll take what I can get usually) and good conversation, bad just won't do in that case.

Mark it's pretty hard to bore me.

Yeah - lit. themed parties (I don't spell well when this hungover) are the best. But who I would be depends both on what clothes I find easiest and who I havne't been before - so that means i can't be Zelda Fitzgerald or Anais Nin leaving me with Sylvia Plath (oohhh pretty vintage dresses), Anne Sexton, Dorothy Parker, or Emily Bronte.

I wouldn't try to be a man - I rarely find boy's clothes to be very fun. That being said Oscar Wilde may actually be the exception.
