Martino,
many times we have discussed making the big move. We sometimes talked about doing it with Microsoft. If you have as much shit as we do it makes sense to get a corporation to pay for it. (The move here from Seattle cost about $25,000) Tracy,by experience, and I , by anecdote, think that there is something about american culture that makes the teenage years awful. It has always been our intention to get our kids out of here during that period. The company she currently works for is a joint US/UK venture. If it takes off here (And so far it is) then we will be interested to see where it goes next. Spain sounds like a dream. Finland had never occured to me.
Marky,
at the moment the Wall Street Journal and Forbes magazine are running stories on how grim the Seattle housing market is. Prices do not reflect the long or short term prospects of it's two major employers. Boeing is probably going to consolidate the operation to Everett. Microsoft is going to "outsource" as many of those tech jobs as it can. House prices, once you get past the first time buyer market, are going to take hit. During the next couple of years (if you have the cash) Seattle is going to be a wonderful place to pick up a boat or some other big ticket luxury item. Not sure how it will affect the prices of Belgian flexi discs though.
