Why are Americans so crap at naming things? Why do they have to get so damn patriotically déclassé? They are turning this great country into a fucking theme park. Soon the whole nation will be one big Dolly World.

What is being built at the former site of the World Trade Center? Freedom Tower, of course. Huh? Okay I understand the Statue of Liberty, but that was a gift. From the French. I'm just waiting for it to get torn down and replaced with Lady Freedom. Where is that coming from? A gift from Iraqis, of course. But really, doesn't it all seem a bit crass? Well, so does everything we name.

This war is called Operation Enduring Freedom. And where was Saddam arraigned today. None other than Camp Victory.

I'm off to eat Freedom Fries. Remember that one? I do.

I have missed you folks.

Dollywood? I've been there and it's pretty shitty.

And Erica Jong has a poem entitled "Cheese." I found it in a bookstore in Richmond this weekend, Chop Suey -- it's a great store. The book is Fruits and Vegetables; it's tasty.

There's an exhibit upstairs with nine millimeters made out of dirt -- it's called "Swords to Plowshares" -- you buy one and plant a flower in it. The proceeds go to fight violence in Richmond.

welcome back, as you can see from my ramblings nothing has changed here.
