Martino, nothing personal but I don't like it when people attack Moore for being a slob. That's just the way he is. He is trying to be Hollywood cool by growing a beard and wearing a tee-shirt but since he is so fat he ends up looking like Michigan trailer trash. He needs to run his ass around the block a few times, true.

But unless one is choosing a casual lover or something, I think people should judge other people by their message and their art and not by their physical appearence.

I have always been a fan of Moore since Roger & Me (I even watched his TV show) and I find what he does is totally unique. He gets treated worse than Teddy Kennedy and he hasn't even gotten drunk and driven into a lake and abandoned a girl to die. The guy gets death threats from millionaires.

And he is not political. He doesn't say at the end of the film, "Go vote for Kerry" or anything. He doesn't run for office himself like Ralph Nader. He just presents his case that Bush is an idiot who cares nothing for the lives of the poor. He backs up his point of view with real footage taken from real events and then cleverly (although hastily in this case) edited footage and makes an entertaining, enlightening , and disturbing package.

I can't think of a better documentary maker in our time. I can't wait to see his next film.

Sloth:
I though Moore's point of dressing was to look like a truck driver? Ya know, so he's like... personable or whatever and "one of the people" or etc.

Hey Sloth. (Hey everyone)

I am behind this weekend, I admit it. I have had to do some serious upgrades with my computer (took me a whole day and a half to really get it all done...ARRRGH), and plus the music freak board will be down for 2 long weeks so I was trying to suck as much of it up before it went down. Sigh. The good news is I have a faster connection now, but jeeeez people Internet Explorer has some serious virus problems! I refuse to use it for now. My virus software has done it's faithful job but I'm just sick of it. I thought maybe it was something wrong with me and what I'd done to my computer but sure enough there's an article in yesterday's paper saying some "security experts" are advising using another browser, which I am now. Don't call me paranoid, man, this shit has happened too many times and 3 out of 4 times it's been the same fucking trojan horse virus. ANNOYING.

Anyway, so maybe we can see the film together soon Sloth?
This weekend I have taken on an extra shift so it won't work. Next weekend?

I also agree the concept of fat/girth/what-have-you is really irrelevant in any discussion of Michael Moore/his filmmaking/what he's trying to do. I can't vouch for him totally because there were some clever omissions in Bowling for Columbine I noticed, but hell, sure I'll see the film. If it's not sold out that is!

Also, I guess I should admit that the idea of watching Bush read to schoolchildren while planes are crashing into the WTC with him still KNOWING this shit is happening is just too tempting a carrot for me. Call me a voyeur or what have you but man...I'd like to think my president would have shut the fuck up and left that school immediately upon hearing the news.

Also please don't tell me just to go to the Windows Update site. Believe me I have been around, and they don't even have any solution yet.

Everything would have probably been fine if I'd been able to keep my old version of Internet Explorer but NOOOOOO because the monopoly Microsoft obviously paid the company who supplied the Wireless PCI adapter I just bought to REQUIRE an Internet Explorer upgrade in order to even use the software!!! FORCED into VIRUS territory by Microsoft! What's next kids?

Occured to me later how strange it was that there were no competing brands for that particular wireless adapter!

People if the terrorists decide to strike computers, guess who they will strike first? Yep. Microsoft. Simply because they are a monopoly and more people use IE than any other browser by miles. Time to diversify, man. Even good investors diversify. We cannot use all the same software all the time. It's bad for everything.

Poor Linda got infected by some Spyware and now her computer is useless. Not even I could fix it. We have to blow it away and start fresh. Windows is so full of holes its incredible people use it. I still wonder why it is my operating system of choice. The reason?

I don't know.

Linux is groovy on the servers but not quite ready for the desktop.

And Macs just don't do it for me. I love the quickness and precision of the Windows platform.

Ever try to surf the web using anything besides IE? Ever try to make a spreadsheet or write a story in OpenOffice? Good fucking luck.

I'm THIS close to buying a G5 with the ...like.... 89 inch monitor.

I'm torn.
If I'm making any sense, then I haven't made myself clear.

I'm currently having a spyware or torjan issue. Stupid computers. I'm reeeally close to buying a MAC... one of those nifty coloured ones would look ultra cute in my dorm. But they're slow and frankly, being the great procrastinator I am... anything slower than windows and I'd never turn anything in on time.
Thank the gods nothing has infected my laptop yet. My laptop is my baby. It stores all my art, poetry, and stories. It also holds my music; I would die without my music.

Occassionally the laptop (a graduation pressie from my grandma) gets used for schoolwork. But not usually.
